I have relied on Edelbrock parts for the last 40 years. Usually they are awesome but not this time. I spent several hours changing the water pump this morning in cold wind only to get done and find a pin hole in the casting. I am assuming that they do not check there castings anymore. Coolant squirts out under pressure.

Great product. Rear plate is thicker than original Edelbrock pump. Had to modify aftermarket timing cover.

Had to replace a water pump on a 350 Chevy. This produce bolted on perfect like it is suppose to bolt on. No grinding or anything like that. Good product, good name and you get what you pay for.

Quiet pump and cools my small block Chevy 350 much better than the stock unit. Even at idle this unit circulates the water well and the adage "You get what you pay for" is applicable here. My motor is not all that stock either and bored to 383 with high compression and putting out around 450 hp and this pump is very nice insurance to have on your motor. The finish is nice as well and the install was easy enough. You will need 1/2 NPT fittings to cap the top and a port on the side if you are not going to use them. It does come with the gaskets and it is lightweight so it is not too hard to manage during install.

I have this pump on the 327 in my '64 Corvette, and it's been great so far. Engine temperature is very stable on warm days, and the pump itself is probably about half the weight of the original cast iron one.The pump housing has slightly different geometry from an OEM Chevy cast iron pump, and I found that I had to use shorter bolts to join the pulley and fan assembly to the pump shaft flange so that the bolt shanks wouldn't interfere. Also, the 1964 327 application requires a pipe plug in the top port and a hose nipple on the side, both 1/2" NPT. Neither of these were included, so you'll have to get them separately from a supplier such as McMaster Carr.
