I like the item and so does my son. Great idea for an educational game. My only issue is that they are flash cards and not a booklet. I knew when i bought it but didn't realize how hard theyd be for a preschooler to keep track of. I ended up poking holes in the cards and attaching them to a binder ring.

I grabbed this for my preschooler to help with letter recognition and confidence building. It’s a great price point. It makes a good chime sound when it’s correct, and a womp-womp chime sound when it’s wrong. They’re both a one-syllable sound, and not words. You have to get the tip just right because sometimes it gives off a false response. Super fun for kids! Little funny story, my preschooler calls this “a rhinestoning pen” because big sisters do competitive dance and they want to help rhinestone. Iykyk. It’s not far off. So cute! Easy to use. And helps with language learning.

This is really neat. I thought maybe my toddler could use it but she’s still a bit young to understand so I put it up for now but it’s a fantastic learning tool and we will get TONS of use from this. The concept is so easy and will be really helpful. The pen works easily and I had no issues getting it to function properly. The sound was loud enough and easy to understand clearly. I think this makes it far more interactive and fun which is a great incentive to learn vs the old way of little flash cards etc.

We are big fans of the learning resource and educational insights and unfortunately out state doesn’t believe in education for toddlers before kindergarten so preschool isn’t state-funded.. and we can’t really afford the paid ones - so I will be teaching my son ourself. This product will help us get where we need to go! It’s a good price, it’s interactive and hands on, it’s easy to use and seems like it will make learning fun and enjoyable for my son. He’ll be 3 years old still on Sept 1, and 4 a bit later in the month but we’re hoping that doesn’t set him back in the school system (I know they “require” your age to match by the 1st of the month) otherwise we’ll be waiting a whole extra year before kindy.. just means an extra year of pre-k to get even smarter I guess.

This Educational Insights Hot Dots® Preschool Prep Set is a great tool for kids 3+ to start to learn sight words and how to read. This would be perfect for in the car or during quiet time. I know my son is going to absolutely adore checking his answers with the fun, interactive pen.

So pleased with this purchase having taught Pre K and now being a grandma it is so important to be the 1st teacher at home as well as reinforce what is being taught at school

This has been great for my 5-year-old brushing up on his uppercase and lowercase alphabets and also his numbers. It's interactive with the pen, which does not come with batteries. A lot of fun. The cards are your average card quality so they can get a little bendable if they get too excited. It's a good way to also help with His reading skills that he's working on. The only thing is that the pen has to be directly on top and press down for it to work well. The sounds are pretty easy to catch on so he was able to tell when he's right and when he's wrong. It also has a green light for correct and red for incorrect.

This little set has been very useful for working with my 5 year old at home to reinforce things he is already being taught at school. He has some issues with retention so we try to practice letters or numbers every night. Rather than do a typical workbook, this pen and card set offers a different and more interesting approach that he really enjoys. I do have to monitor and work with him on this since he still has some trouble understanding if he got an answer right or wrong. Overall, this set is easy to use, effective, fun to play with and appropriately priced.
