I love a good story and sometimes when kids are just setting off in writing they need that help to start, plan and end a story. These are fabulous for early writing! You get a tiny little jar with a load of magic inside, literally tiles containing sentence starters, pictures and endings. The tiles are so pretty and really durable so will last the course of time! Some readers will need help reading the sentence tiles, but on the whole it’s amazing, there is loads you can do with them and I’m so chuffed with them!

A plastic jar with lift up carry handle containing double sided tiles for you to create your own story. All tiles are double sided so part of the fun is selecting the best tile to suit your imagination as the story flows. The sentence tiles contain the beginning of the story, the small single word tiles are for continuing and the picture tiles are for additions to the narrative.People, animals, vehicles all create your story, can be short in length or as the child grows their vocabulary will expand. One of the things I noticed in the selection of tiles is that the people had emotions like happy, sad and upset which is a fun way to get the little one to open up about their feelings during play and learning.

These are a great set of dominos; lovely for play/bedtime, to make up stories as well as practice words. With 75 double sided pieces in total (and a nice jar to store them in), there's a good number of combinations you can come up with.

These are fantastic at encouraging imagination in children. We have used similar toys to this in the past and this is a great example of story dominoes. The dominoes are well made, they are hollow, so they are lightweight. The tub they come in has a handle to easily allow younger children to carry this tub.The dominoes have a mixture of pictures and words on them, so they are ideal for non readers and readers, and this will mean as the child grows this set will have a longer play life for them.

This is a really fun learning game from Learning resources. It’s a story telling dominoes game that the whole family can get involved with. It really helps with imagination and using new and alternative words to form a really exciting story! As with Learning resources items it is great quality and although expensive, it’s worth the money!

My younger child has been working on her writing skills and keeping a journal to practice making up stories with different elements of a story like characters, events, feelings etc. These dominoes are perfect way to help her get started and I love that it is color coded so she knows she needs to have at least one color for each story. It is helping her to be creative and also building her vocabulary and spelling. The dominoes are double sided and I love that it comes in a storage bucket for easy clean up.

These Storytelling Dominoes are not only educational but they're a fun way to make up stories. Children can use them on their own to create a story to share. They're also a great interactive way for adults and children to make up stories, all the while helping children learn sentence and story structure. I highly recommend these educational storytelling dominoes.(My star rating system: 4 stars met my expectations, 5 stars exceeded my expectations, 3 stars fell short of my expectations, 2 stars significantly fell short of my expectations, 1 star highly suggest not ordering)

Former preschool teacher here, so my review is not only from a parental standpoint, but also of that of a teacher's. This concept of using pictures and words to create stories/sentences is really great because this can be played by a variety of ages. I used this set with my kids, and we did not use it as dominos, but here's what I found:My 3yo daughter, who does not know how to read, was able to produce a sentence using the pictures. She would put the pictures together (matching related pictures) and I would read it out like a sentence or story. This is a great introduction to sentence building and word recognition. For my 5yo son (who is on the autism spectrum), this is a great way to build reading skills. He is just at the beginning stages of learning to identify sight words and simple, repetitive reading. So with him, we read the lines out loud together. He would pick the beginning of the sentence ("Once Upon a Time", "A Long Time Ago", Etc.) and then we would create a story using the pictures, and he would read the sentence. The pictures are clearly printed on the tiles, and they are double-sided, so you can create many different stories/sentences using these tiles. Each parts of speech are color coded, which makes it easier for kids to know which tile should go where when creating a sentence.I strongly recommend this set for either the classroom, or at home. It's a fun game, no matter how you end up using them. Two parent and teacher thumbs up!!

Two things I especially like about these tiles are the container it comes in, and also they are double sided so you can change your stories up. They are somewhat noisy so be careful when you put them away...

These are a great manipulative for writing that we use frequently in our homeschool. It's fun to just randomly grab tiles and then create an impromptu oral or written story about what happened. They are small, but not a choking hazard. I think they make a nice size to be able to move around and create stories. I started using them with my 5 year old to teach her narrative writing and sequence, helping her visualize what she wants to happen at the beginning, middle, and end of the story. The different colors are for parts of speech, so that is another avenue of learning we are starting to explore, nouns and verbs. It's also fun for my 3 year old to grab random tiles and ask for a story with them and when he hears the tile topic mentioned, he can hand them to me. These were a really good find. I would like to see a bit more complex vocabulary words and diverse verbs, perhaps in additional "series" or something like that, but these are great for young learners.
