This gadget is a giant egg slicer. It does a perfect job. It’s equally great at slicing strawberries and mushrooms. I’ve used similar slicers for boiled eggs, strawberries and mushrooms. I tried slicing other foods like kiwi, cheese and modeling clay with this slicer. The kiwi are too firm for wire slicers. The cheese and modeling clay success depends on the stiffness of the cheese or clay. Best to stick with the items it’s best for - boiled eggs, mushrooms & strawberries.This model is bigger than most of this type, big enough to try with bananas. It’s also prettier than most, a gorgeous cheery yellow.For this price they’re cheap enough to buy an extra one to slice your clay.

I bought this for one and only one thing, slicing Spam, and for that it works pretty well. Personally I'd have liked the Spam slices be a little bit thinner but this slicer had the most wires of any I saw. They aren't as thin as I used to cut with a knife but they are very uniform, unlike the thin and thick I get when I do it by hand and are consistently the same thickness, not thin on one end and thick on the other when doing it by hand.All in all I'm happy with this slicer and would recommend it.
