I purchased this along with the hoses, EGR valve and the vacuum solenoid. My engine light had come on and the code showed it could be 1 of these 3 things, so I thought I would just change all 3. Well, the light did not go off for long (maybe 10 miles MAYBE) and I ended up at the mechanic anyway and thank God I still had the old parts, because this one is the one that was no good from the time I installed it. The mechanic tested this one and my old one and my old one was NOT bad, so thankfully he was able to install it and now my truck runs fine.

This is the Ford OEM DPFE sensor. It has the Ford name on the back. It costs twice as much or more than the many aftermarket ones on Amazon but it is necessary. I bought two of them in the past year and both failed. My 97 F150 started running EGR excess trouble code (402 I believe) and I thought it couldn't be the sensor since it was basically new. But it was the aftermarket sensor. Many folks have complained that the non-OEMs fail quickly, and they do. They have no writing on the back of the sensor. I don't know why they fail. This one has cleared up my code issues nicely.

Hubby bought this to fix his Ford ranger and it worked for a couple of days but then his engine light came back on. We figured it was just a defective one off part because the replacement we got cleared up the problem. I will say the company has great customer service and were more than happy to work with us.

Great product!I bought it hoping it would work with my vehicle as the system is very touchy. However, my vehicle doesn't have one of these, or so the Autozone associate said. He and another associate couldn't find where it was and I researched everywhere to find out if it does but can't find it. The website says it was a perfect fit (Amazon garage) go figure, lol.

Easy to install! This is the most common reason for the OBD CODE P0401. if it's not this it's probably clogged ports on the throttle body space where the EGR valve comes in. Both of those issues were wrong on my 1999 a Ford F150. Cleaned the ports and replaced the valve, probably an hour of work and bam it passed the emissions inspection!

Installed this on my 1997 F150 4.6 which started throwing code P0402.Had it installed and on the road within 10 minutes of it arriving. Disconnected battery for a few minutes to reset CEL. Drove for about 20 minutes and CEL stayed away. Now we'll just see if it lasts.I'll update this review if/when it fails. If you don't read anything here, it's still working.
