This pet tracker seemed promising. I put it on my dog and as you can see, he was able to tear off the plastic pretty easily. I have no idea why this comes with soft plastic and not anything that’s more durable. The battery also only lasted about a month before it showed red in my Find My app. The picture on the box of the picture of the dog on the tag looks so much more better quality than what you actually get shown on the tag itself. I would not recommend this.

Everything arrived quickly & seems to be durable & fits my dogs collar well. I thought this would be a good item to review because there are no monthly charges & at times, my pup likes to escape the yard & do a bit of a wander.Unfortunately- I did not see that it was "ios" or apple only. Because of that I cannot speak to functionality. Seems like it will be a great product otherwise, and this was unfortunately my error for not noticing.

From its sleek design to its seamless functionality with Apple’s Find My network, it’s everything I could have hoped for in a tracker—without any subscription fees!One recent evening, Max decided to go on an unexpected adventure during his backyard playtime. Somehow, he slipped through the gate, and I didn’t realize he was gone until I called him for dinner. Panic set in, but then I remembered his tracker was attached to his collar. Within moments, I pulled up the Find My app and pinpointed his location just a few streets away. The tracker’s accuracy was spot-on, and I was able to retrieve Max quickly and safely. What truly amazed me was how stress-free the process was, thanks to this little device. Knowing I can always find him in real-time brings me incredible peace of mind.The customizable E-Ink display is another fantastic feature. I’ve added Max’s name and my contact details, so if someone finds him, they can easily reach me. It’s lightweight, fits securely on his collar, and doesn’t bother him at all. I have what my friends call a tech curse. A thing that works for them. I try to make it work for me, they try to make it work for me, it doesn’t… ever… work for me. So I was wary of ordering this, and even more skeptical after seeing 2 different manuals included.Luckily, it’s as easy as any other airtag. You don’t need to download their app except if you want to use the picture window, but that’s what you’re paying extra for (though the housing is quite nice, too!) You press the button on the back while in the Find My app and it should be simple to add as long as you’re using iOS 14 or newer.The whole tag is 1.44 oz complete with the rings and rubber-like protective cover, possibly too heavy for very small pets. We’ve got it attached to a harness, so it’s not too bad for our tiny terrier, but I wouldn’t try it on a neck collar for any small breed prone to IVDD.It’s great that the battery is replaceable, but I couldn’t try out replacing it as I couldn’t get the included tool to work with the pins/screws. This is a bit worrisome as the battery gauge in FindMy is pretty low out of the box. Replacement screws are included, but I’ll need to find some other tool to remove the ones already in. Otherwise this is a really nice item.

What I really like about this pet smart tag is that you’re able to use the Apple’s iOS Find My App/Features on your iPhone using the iOS and Bluetooth capabilities to locate your animal, and I am so happy I’m able to see in real time where my cat is when she’s always trying to run away from home. My cat always loves to be outside, but it’s not safe for her outside so she stays in at night, but there have been times when she’ll sneak out and we cannot find her for days. So now with this smart tag, I can definitely find her around my place. Sometimes she’s just hanging out under the tree, or sometimes she’s underneath the doghouse in the backyard. Having this will make me feel a lot more confident and knowing that she’s safer outside near me, than me frantically looking for her all the time. Another thing I really like about this collar is that it’s super easy to set up. You just utilize the handout and the instructions, and it tells you to download their app which you Download, and press the on button on your tag, and once it turns on it tells you to upload your image. I just took a picture from my phone and of my cat and I put it in the image box and it uploaded an exact black-and-white replica of the picture I posted of my cat. It’s so cool because it just kinda looks like an “etch-a-sketch” screen when it’s loading to generate the image on the tag. I think this is the coolest little smart tag for any dog or cat or pet. I like that it was super simple to operate and the battery is supposed to last a very long time too. I like that it did come with the batteries already inside of it that are good for a few years I believe. And overall, this is one of the coolest smart tags I’ve ever seen.There was nothing really at all that I didn’t like about the smart pet tag, it really does provide exceptional tracking for my cat even around the house. I will definitely recommend this smart tag for pets to all my family and friends, and to anyone that’s looking for a very modern and futuristic smart tag for their pet that likes to escape and get up too, then I would also recommend this to them too.
