This is a really nice set of metamorphic rocks. Comes with a description poster to show which rocks are which. Stored in a nice foam sectioned mat inside the box for easy storage. Great for scientific learning, or as a gift for your favorite collector.

My son is going through a rock phase so I thought this would be interesting for him to see some of the different kinds of rocks out there. These are not some of the fancier rocks like rose quartz etc but interesting in their own right. Some of the rocks are a bit difficult to tell apart but they appear to have been broken to approximate the shape in the guide pictures which helps (it didn't seem like the locations in the box matched with the picture locations but maybe my son moved them around before I got a good look). It's a shame there's not a bit more info on the rocks to add more value or even say a QR code to a website with more information but I supposed if you're using them in a classroom, maybe it's fine. Personally, I found the coal and talc/soapstone most interesting but look forward to finding out more about the others. Definitely an interesting purchase for the price for the right people (and if you know them, you know). I feel like this is a good start for a collection too.
