Just did complete kitchen reno & instead of granite bar between kitchen & family room I had the wall extended higher and added a shelf to have a mantle effect. These are the perfect corbels to complete the look (shelf still needs painting). The corbels do chip easily so they will also get painted. My handyman glued them to the shelf underside + added some thin nail gun nails through the shelf into the corbels. They look more expensive than they were.

This is first post I ever give negative feedback on. Nothing is square or straight on these corbels. We tried sanding the tops of them to flatten the tops and to get them to fit at a decent 90 degree angle and it just would not work. The more we would sand to correct the problem it would show on the corbel thickness. The top back corners were diffrent hieghts. Also the very bottom part where the tip rounds has a part that steps out, those lines on the step outs were crooked and very visible. The product would be great if the manufacturer can correct these very important issues. We turned around and purchased wooden corbels to please our customers. I will not buy this product again.

I painted this and use this on my patio. It was easy to paint, lightweight but sturdy, and has worked perfectly for me.

Be careful! Unlike most Corbels I've purchased, these have no hangers in back. They are hollow and can only be glued, unless you are willing to have visible screws. They look nice, so if you are only looking for a decorative piece they are fine, but not really load-bearing. Do not purchase them to hold up a shelf, as pictured. Shelf must be independently hung first and these glued to it.

Came in with minor damage. I'm still very happy with them. They are made of a very light weight material. They feel like styrofoam with a hard candyshell coat. If I tap it with my fingernail it sounds what I imagine that would make a sound like. I'm sure it's not as easy to nick, at least I hope not.Update: I put these up and used a nail gun but messed up so I had to take a hammer and remove the nail and corbel from the wall. The corbel held together perfectly even though I pulled it hard to get it off the wall and then proceeded to yank at the nail in it to get it out. It didn't break off with the nail the way it would have if the material was substandard. Also, I dropped one of them on the ground and all that napped was the paint that I had put on it chipped but the designe and edge was as if nothing happened. All I need to do is repaint the nick and it's as if nothing hit it.
