I went from the Pioneer Andrew Jones cp22 to this. And while the Pioneer was really remarkable, this just blows it out of the water. Granted much more expensive, but dialog and music from a vast variety of genres and styles is just night and day better in all categories.Give them a good month with regular use to break in, then recalibrate your system and i believe you'll be pleasantly surprised. The audio is so clear I now watch moves at about 10db lower than I used to because I dont need to turn it up so loud to hear dialog... even in crazy action films. My only gripe is the veneer... for something of this price, i would have expected to not see seams in the veneer. Granted they are on the bottom, but with something in this price range I would have expected a little more polish. Very minor detraction.

I love Elac Debut Reference speakers, go to AudioScienceReview.com and you'll see that these speakers stay in the top ten up to the $5,000 speakers, excellent speaker.

A decent center speakerI bought this speaker from a different vendor. It is heavy and solid build. It actually works fine with my older Monitor audio RS1 front speakers in my 3.1 set up. There is a FR measurement in German HiFi. It is flat to 90Hz (0db, not -3db). There is a 1 db bump at 650Hz and 2 db dip in 900Hz. With two 5.25" woofers, I expected it should have more output compared to my RS1 with one 6.5" woofer. However, it has lower sensitivity. With audyssey set up, it is -1.5 db less sensitive than my RS1. For that at least one star is removed.
