It looks great on the wall and color matches. So it’s a great addition to complete the look.Pros- Easy to install- Looks fantasticCons- Expensive for a single piece of metal- No mounting hardware included- Requires vertical mounting (using the 2 vertical screw holes to mount to drywall)Using the vertical mounts as indicated may cause you to put a screw where your wires are run. For users I’d suggest making sure you select shallow screws and snake a camera to verify you won’t hit anything. Prep the wall first by sanding/painting surface irregularities out. Noting that this should be perfectly flush against the wall. Finally, including some mounting hardware such as some screws would make it a better value.

This is a great addition to your nest if the stock white rectangle isn't for you (and it shouldn't be). It's extremely easy to install (tip: take a photo of the wiring of the nest before you do anything), and looks fantastic on the wall. I have the brass version and it is a perfect match for the brass Nest.I was originally sent the bronze (despite ordering the brass), and the seller immediately shipped me a replacement, no returns required or questions asked. 5/5

Purchased the bronze version to compliment the copper version of the nest thermostat and it matches perfectly. See my photos for what I mean.So I wanted to fit my nest over an old UK one gang wall box and the nest itself would leave gaps around the four corners and the included nest white cover plate is terrible quality and makes it look like a bodge job.This plate however is perfect. Strong and elegant and well made I’m pleased with the quality and final look even at the price of £20 paid.The four holes are the same size as the electrical screw holders in the wall box so it was a case of removing old wall plate. Getting the nest mount and this back plate and putting the two screws back into the wall box fittings. No extra work needed. There is a little play with the holes to allow for extra precise adjustment and once tight, no one will ever know what is behind. Absolutely perfect!

🔥🔥🔥La placca è di ottima fattura e permette la corretta installazione del Nest Thermostat coprendo completamente la scatola elettrica.Per l’installazione su una scatola 3 posti Italiana è necessario inserire all’interno dell stessa un corpo nel quale ancorare le viti.PRO:- Ottima fatturaCONTRO:- Necessità di una modifica alla cassetta per la corretta installazione ( io ho risolto inserendo al suo interno il cartone della stessa placca e ancorando ad esso la stessa ).Grazie dell’attenzione!👇

Edited my older review to state that this wall plate works just fine with the latest 4th generation nest thermostat.The black finish with the black thermostat looks °much° better than the white oval wall plate that nest supplies with the thermostat kit.Didn't use for a nest thermostat but worked well for another project.I bought this item to go as a base to cover my ceiling junction box that powers a motion-sensed night light. The screw holes don't line up with a standard junction box but I only needed to secure it with a single drywall screw as this was more than adequate to hold it tight. Being thick aluminum, I have no worries of it's strength. Also, since this was being used on the ceiling and not a wall, any gaps from it not sitting flush are not noticible.Overall, the project turned out well and I now have a hardwired ceiling mounted motion night light similar to the nest protect or other such detectors for a much cheaper price.

Makes the nest look like a 'BOSS" on the wall and meant to be there. I have a friend that has a Nest installed without a backing plate - even the one as supplied and it looks sad and an after thought.
