  • [UniA Joystick Heating Plate] – Desolder the whole thumbsticks module off controller PCB with a normal soldering iron. With as many as 14 prongs, removing the problem stick is the most difficult task. An CNCed copper plate melts all the solder joints simultaneously. It makes it possible to remove the entire joystick at one time. There’re 3 different models for sticks in different dimensions: UniA, UniB and X360
  • [Choose the Correct Model] – UniA is for the normal joysticks made by ALPS, FU and other 3rd party widely used in most wired and wireless controllers: PS5, PS4, Xbox One and Elite and Series S|X, Switch Pro and most others. While UniB is slightly larger than UniA, it was found in some PDP, Power-A, Hori and BDA controllers. X360 is way larger which was found in Xbox 360 and some Logitech controllers. 🔺Please study the images and teardown your controller, measure the stick before ordering
  • [Some Helping Tools included] – Multi gauge wires included that performs better than typical solder wick. Tin the wire, cut it to form a sharp tip, puncture the tip into the small hole to suck the solder in the small holes. Also included is the simple PCB clamps which helps to support the PCB on the workbench. 🔺Be noticed: Do not position the clamps close to hot joystick, or it will melt
  • [What’s in Package] – 1x Heating Plate, 1x Teflon Pad, 1x Solder Remover Wire, 4x PCB clamps. (🔺Notes: Your soldering station should be more than 60Watt and with a big tip. The soldering iron and other soldering materials are required but NOT included!)

The repair tools kit was designed for desoldering the joystick module off PCB with a normal soldering iron. The CNCed heating plate melts all the 14 solder joints simultaneously. Some helping tools included
Important Notes
1. There’re 3 different models for different joysticks. Please dismantle your controller and measure the joystick to choose the correct model
2. Your soldering iron should be more than 60W, choose a bigger iron tip and set the temperature high
3. Make sure the entire joystick unit should be replaced. In many cases, replacing the potentiometer alone can solve most joystick problems. Please go to the potentiometers at product ID: B09KVG19C1
4. Also take a look at the replacement analog joystick in UniA dimension modeled from EL1 to EL7 at ID: B09KVG7DGY

I'm by no means a professional when it comes to soldering and I'm sure there are people who could make this kit work flawlessly, but I got so frustrated using it that I just went out and bought a desoldering gun. The solder that was originally on my joystick was remarkably stubborn and I thought this could do the trick, but it didn't.

Instructions:Prepwork:1-Insert screw half way through heating adapter. Push the plastic tube onto the screw and finish screwing until screw and tube are flush with the adapter.2-Apply flux liberaly on every pin of the dualsense board and the heating block.3-Before starting. Aling the heating block to the pins on the dualsense board and remember the orientation.4-Make sure you have a chisel tip installed on your soldering iron.Soldering steps:Hold the adapter upside down as pictured and fill all the holes of the heating block with solder while also brushing the iron around the block back and forth to maintain the block hot.Once the solder looks to be flowing around the block evenly flip over and aling with the pins on the board. But before pressing down make sure the top of the heating block maintains constant contact with the soldering iron.As you gently place the block on to the pins keep the iron on the block and watch the block become flush with the board.Pull the joystick down and rock back and forth side to side gently as to not burn yourself and but with enough force! The joystick might not come out on the first try simply apply more solder to the block and use a vaccum pump to remove excess solder from the board. Then apply fresh solder to the board and block feel free to form clumps to maintain the heat.Removing dualsense joysticks has been a breeze with this paired with the Ryobi P3100 on a 4ah battery at full temp and using the chisel tip.

Works very well, but you need a large solder tip to get it hot enough all over.
