Several times my husband has gotten things in his eyes at the shop when working on equipment. We had talked about installing an eye station, but then found this. The portability makes it a great choice. At first I wasn't sure, but then after we got it and tried it out, found it works very well. You do need to make sure you keep it charged. But definitely recommend.

This portable eyewash station is well-designed for workplace or home use. The two cleaning modes are effective, and the ergonomic design makes it easy to handle in emergencies. It’s compact and OSHA-approved for peace of mind. A practical addition to any safety kit.

I first became familiar with over the counter eye washes a few years ago when sweat carried sunscreen into my eyes on a hot day. The burning was unbearable, and it took me a while to figure out what was going on.Since then, I've been more proactive in keeping my eyes clean, rinsing them in the shower, or with the aid of a silicone eye cup, at the earliest sign of significant irritation. How does this little electronic rinser compare? On unboxing it, I was a bit put off by the hard eye cups which didn't fit my eyes all that well. I was worried that, besides being uncomfortable, it would spill water where the hard cups didn't seal around my eyes.Actually using it, though, won me over completely! It wasn't uncomfortable and none of the water spilled. The stream was gentle enough not to irritate but forceful enough to irrigate the whole exposed eye. On being used, the water/wash is ejected out of the left compartment, into the right. Each holds just over 100 ml, 4 oz. when full to the rim.As a standby option in the field (especially for those, like me, who are occasionally exposed to dust, pollen, sawdust, etc where a clean water tap isn't readily available) I think having this unit along with a prepackaged 4 oz. bottle of eye wash - just over $3 here on Amazon, this is a pretty good solution. If you're out of eyewash, clean water is a good option. It doesn't have to be sterile. After all, the air isn't sterile, some people swim with their eyes open, and the nose, which is where tears drain to when they're not running down the face is not sterile either.

Nobody likes seatbelts, let's be honest. But we drive the message home to wear them, despite we don't like to, because inertia works against us when we don't want it to. These are similar. I can't expect anyone to wake up and find this under the Christmas tree and jump for joy to squirt water into an open eye. That being said, if you are out working in the garage or something, and you happen to have brake cleaner or something else make its way into your eye, you are going to run to this thing faster than I run to get more pizza. So, is this a great gift? Not really. At least not in the same way getting your spouse a vacuum cleaner. Is it however a great investment? You bet your eyes it is. I sincerely hope nobody that buys this ever needs it, but if someone does, it will probably be one of your favorite products you bought from here.Be careful out there y'all, we only got two eyes!

I am constantly getting stuff in my eyes while working. The wife always points me to the sink to rinse them out, but I hate doing that because I usually have some sort of lubricant or debris on my hands and frankly the water from the sink stings. I ordered this hoping to alleviate those issues with rinsing my eyes out.The first time I turned this device on, I was very hesitant for a couple of reasons. 1. The eyecups are very oddly shaped and don't really fit around the eyes. 2. The button which you activate the water stream with is conveniently placed right where the tip of one's nose might go, that way you can easily turn it off while using it. 3. The streams of water are very uneven and almost like a water fountain show due to the unevenness.I was going to give it 2-stars just for these facts. However, just moments ago my eyes both started to sting. I subconsciously rubbed them both and next thing I know, my eyes are stinging so bad I couldn't keep them open for more than one second at a time. I stumbled to where I left this eye washing device (after laughing it the other day) and attempted to use it. I really didn't like using it at all, especially because I didn't have any sort of eyewash or saline solution in it, but water from a 5-gallon water dispenser. The eyewash device actually worked, for the most part. After a few seconds of flushing my eyes out (in between nose button deactivations), I was able to keep them open again. And, as a bonus, I was able to look at the eyeball broth in the waste tank. I have no idea why all of that crap is floating around in mine but I can assume it's from my using the device on my eyes. One thing I don't like is how the water doesn't fully drain from the eyecups. Just slightly annoying I guess but I suppose you should clean the tanks out after every use.So, if you can get around the uneven spraying, the eyecups that don't seem to fit, the nose-activated button, and the poor draining, then you should definitely consider ordering this item. I'm sure you will only be slightly disappointed like I am (I had no expectations to begin with yet here we are).
