- We recommend using very hard, solidly frozen ice, using ice that's been hardened in the freezer produces perfect, fluffy shaved ice.
- Plug in the power, turn on the switch, put ice in, you are supposed to apply pressure on the top cover to keep the ice contacted with the blades. Turn the ice bowl while using.
- Once you have shaved down a cup of ice, we recommend not shaving down the last little bits of ice, they will just make bigger pieces that are less snow-like.
- Lift the handle and throw out the remaining pieces right after you shave the ice, or they will quickly melt and drain into the snow pan.
- In order to avoid soiling the desktop after the ice melts, you can put a few towels under the ice crusher.

We have used it to make snow cones, slushies, margaritas, Mexican drinks and so many more! Great for the summer or just having a cool lemonade stand. The handle was easy to maneuver and the crushed ice doesn’t fly everywhere. Glad I can use regular ice than hard block of ices. Favorite part is that is really easy to clean!

This shaved ice machine makes some decent shaved ice, not crushed ice. All is not perfect though. I started out trying to use some larger ice blocks I made by freezing water in some small bowls. Those fit easily into the machine but the machine had trouble keeping that block of ice from spinning. Once the blades grabbed the block of ice then the whole block would just spin inside the machine. So we tried just regular ice cubes and that seemed to work fine. The machine does make shaved ice pretty quickly. You'll have a bowl filled in seconds. The machine does leak a lot of water onto the counter you use it on though. It seems to run down the inside of the machine during and after use no matter what you do. This is good as long as you are ok dealing with that minor leakage of water.
