Fly wheel does not fit 2022 gx390. Miss fires and throws the timing off 30°. Does not work properly.

The electric starts seems to be a really high value product as I could no longer pull the starter rope on my 13 horse Honda motor. I would’ve given it five stars except that there were no instructions whatsoever that came with it. Basically a plug and play type unit.

As the title says ..No Instructions! I knew this before purchasing it, so no surprise. I wanted to up grade my generator with electric start. My generator has a Honda knock off for the motor, so it was the same as a GX340/ 360 11 hp motor. Kit installed with no issues. Wiring is some what intuitive is you are electrically inclined. Pretty straight forward install.. I removed the gas tank just to make it easier to access everything, removed engine cover, remove old fly wheel, install starter, installed charging coil , installed new fly wheel and reinstalled cover. I did not use the starting switch mount unit as it came. I removed the keyed start switch and over load from the supplied unit and drilled holes in generator panel to install them. This worked out great. Overall happy with the out come. Also battery came from Amazon..worked great!

I really wanted an electric start because of long days and it's hard to start when I'm tired. To install it's not hard but drilling the hole for the starter in the aluminum housing is by far not easy, you need to proper hole saw or you can do it with a body saw then a carbide file that goes on your drill to get a fine fit. Do not do if you are not handy.

This was perfect for my wife. I installed this on my generator she thought it was great so she demanded one for her leaf shredder for her composting. She is very petite and has a lot of trouble starting her 13 HP leaf shredder, so I installed one on that as well. One problem, NO INSTRUCTIONS!!! It would have gotten 5 stars if not for that.I have a strong mechanical background so it was not to much for me, but for a novice they might have some trouble. The big thing was boring a hole for the starter itself. The minor things where taping threads in the holes.
