Purchased this to verify the claims of other purchases made on Amazon (food mixers). I tested the accuracy using an induction stove that had control of how many watts it was using (a rosewill unit), and it was fairly accurate - eg, I would set the induction cooker to 700watts and the readout was ~710watts, and when I changed it to 1000, it would also be reflected on the meter.

The functionality of this device is fine, nothing special to report. It works.Unfortunately, the display is only easy to read from some angles. If you are above the screen, it kind of fades to gray, so you need to be even with or below the screen to read it (which is unfortunate, as most outlets are near the floor). Once you have a good angle, the backlight is bright and the numbers are large and legible. The second annoyance is it's a bit of a pain to set the Cost function (price of electricity per kWh). It's a little un-intuitive with a lot of button presses, which wouldn't be so bad except for the next annoyance:In order to reset the min/max watts that were recorded (and they are preserved by an internal battery even when the unit is unplugged), you must use the master Reset button (which is a tiny unmarked black button on a black background that you need a pen/pencil/paperclip to press). This, sadly, also erases the Cost you have set, which must then be re-set using the aforementioned annoying process.

The meter reads and functions as described. Accuracy is good as I previously checked the amps and volts on my system with a clamp on multi meter. I found this meter to be very useful in determining my electrical usage to size up a DC system in my RV. The only slight negative is that the screen was challenging to read at times due to glare on the LCD screen and it would be useful if the screen light would stay on a bit longer.

Wow! I purchased this item to help me make a log of "actual" power usage of items I plan to use with my generator during a power outage. I learned at once that the label on the items (TV, Coffee Pot, etc) are not close at all. I made a spreadsheet with basic items using this device to read the actual power being used and am now CONFIDENT that I will not overload my generator while having the appliances and items I want to power during an outage. We are in a very RURAL area and outages are normally long events, hours if not days and once for 16 weeks after a hurricane. I LOVE and recommend this item to anyone who wants FACTS about the power they are using in their home.

Wanted to see how many watts an electric blanket and other devices use. Seems to work. Looks like you can get it to measure use over time, along with cost if you add in the KWH costs in your area. I'll have to figure it out. Not easy to set that up though.
