This has tight base with expressive warm tone. The tube doesn't seem to run hot, is balanced and I will have to see how long it lasts.

I purchased this tube for a Little Bear P10 headphone amplifier, to see how much a different tube would effect the sound of the amp.Compared to the Shuguang 12AU7 it replaced, here are the tonal differences I'm hearing with Beyerdynamic DT-990 Pro's.-Better instrument separation in the soundstage. More spatial sounding.-Vocals sound more intimate, and generally warmer in the 800-1000hz range.-Upper mids are brighter and more aggressive, where the Shuguang was more neutral and accurate, but boring.-Highs are much more crisp and less artificial and "tinny" sounding. The Shuguang had quite a bit of "fizz" in the highs, whereas the EH is slightly grainier, more emphasized, and more detailed as a result. Again, it's more fun, but also slightly more fatiguing.-Not much difference in the bass. Both tubes have BIG, clean, deep, powerful bass through this amp. I was worried I'd lose some of the great bass with this tube versus the Shuguang, but nope, it's all there, and still equally excellent.I can't comment on whether or not the fact this is a balanced tube has any effect on the sound, all I know is I do really like the way this tube sounds in my amp!
