About this item

  • 9 presets that were created to emulate many of the most popular synthesizer sounds ever
  • Works on guitar or bass without modifications, special pickups or MIDI implementation
  • The SYNTH9’s usable tracking range extends up to about the 23rd fret on the high-E string of a standard guitar and down to the open A-string on a bass guitar
  • Use the SYNTH9 with a B9 or C9 Organ Machine as well as the KEY9 Electric Piano Machine and MEL9 Tape Replay Machine to create your own mega-keyboard setup

The polyphonic SYNTH9 Synthesizer Machine transforms your guitar or bass with 9 presets that were precisely tuned to emulate the most sought after, vintage synthesizer sounds ever! From searing lead synths to spacey synth pads and deep, funky, synth bass grooves, it’s all accessible.
The SYNTH9 is also super easy to use with DRY volume, SYNTH volume, CTRL1 and CTRL2 knobs that provide precise control over each preset’s parameters.
If you dig the kind of classic synth sounds made famous on recordings by groups like ELP, EVH, Kraftwerk, Joy Division, P-Funk, Peter Gabriel and more, we think you’ll love the SYNTH9.

Perfetto per emulare realisticamente i sintetizzatori anni 70/ 80. Semplicemente incredibile.

Excellent sounds. My tube amp became a live soundtrack from the 80’s.

Love this unit. I almost exclusively use the “strings” setting to add a bit of flavour to some songs in the duo I play in.

I've wanted the EHX Synth 9 since forever. It delivers everything you want from a guitar-to-synth effect you could want. The MOOG sounds are too cool and the other organ / keyboard sounds you can create will actually make you a better guitar player because of how conscientious you'll want to be when using it. There are countless variations of the effect you can get from this one pedal. I found this overwhelming when first using it.I have other EHX pedals and am more than blown away by their offerings. That said, my Synth 9 effectively stopped working after a month and a half. I still get "synth" sounds but now its all jumbled together regardless of the setting. For $200 it shouldn't have these kinds of bugs.

I use this on 4 songs in my electric bands current set and find it really useful. It has a good range of synths although I tend to use only two. I find the sensitivity of it does mean some adjustments to your playing style. It didn't work so well on acoustic guitar. Overall a really good if limited synth pedal.

UPDATE #2: Electro Harmonix has a department of its company that fixes their pedals that have become disfunctional. it cost me like $30 to get my pedal totally fixed! that is freaking awesome.UPDATE - this pedal has totally died, months before its 2nd birthday. i have never had a pedal totally die on me before, let alone so soon. the pedal had never left my smoke-free studio, so it's not like it was getting knocked around traveling to and from gigs. very disappointed.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------i absolutely love the Synth9 pedal. sure, i wish there was more to it, like jacks for 2 expression pedals for the CTRL knobs, but who's counting? i have long been seeking ways to make my guitars sound like synths (and i've briefly owned the EHX Micro-Synth pedal, and i thought that one sucked). but combining this pedal with my new EHX filter modulation pedal The Blurst (with an expression pedal attached) & their Superego synth engine pedal (with my Deluxe Memory Man in the FX loop), i think i have finally found the sounds i've been looking for. my acoustic guitar even sounds phenomenal! being able to blend FX sound & dry sound is pretty sweet. sometimes i don't want to hear any "guitar" & sometimes i do! i've always loved the combination of acoustic guitar and synth. now i have them both at the same time. or i can add a little overdrive and/or distortion to my electric and this pedal makes some awesome howling sustains. normally, i buy my music equipment from Sweetwater, but Amazon had this in stock a couple days before Sweetwater, and i had to have this the second it dropped.

At some point I should have stock in Electro harmonix. I have so many of their boxes. this one is just plainly simply AWESOME. I am doing so many synth pieces now, like subdivisions, Dreams (Van Halen), Between the wheels (rush), and where the streets have no name (U2). really fun stuff.
