I purchased because the original charger stopped working. This unit is about 1/3 the price and seems to work as well as the Ryobi charger. I haven't had it long enough to attest to the durability, but it charged my bettery as quickly as the manufacturer's and I was bck to work in no time.

I purchased this while ordering replacement batteries for my Ryobi battery that no longer held the charge. More batteries means more to charge... This charger works perfectly and is an excellent value. If you have multiple batteries and need more charging stations, just get it - you won't regret it!

Bought this for my shed in the back yard so when I mowed with my new Ryobi self-propelled mower, I did not have to go to the garage to charge the batteries. I have one (the genuine one) in the garage and this one in the shed. Very convenient to have two chargers.I would recommend this charger for Ryobi 40 volt batteries.

I managed to loose my cable in a move to my 40v Ryobi charger.This unit was less money by half than the replacement cable alone. I didn't have high expectations for the charger.The cable is an exact fit for the lost one. I did decide to try the charger anyway, before tossing it out.To my surprise it worked. Also worked several times so far. Two weeks in, the new chargers has charged two batteries around a dozen times as I do my yard, my father's and his neighbors.I found the missing cable, so now I keep one unit, battery and charger at Dad's and the other in the garage.The trimmer is always ready and I have less to carry between yards.That's hardly a long term test. Then again, it was hardly the replacement cost of an actual Ryobi part.I'm happy.
