I actually was looking for a similar X-Acto knife that I'd bought several years ago at an art supply store, but all offered here on Amazon were either "professional" box cutters, or a large quantity of disposable box cutters. I did a search for these blades, and, even though these blades cost each what a full unit did - I'm all for not clogging up landfills.The blades are easy to replace and sharp! They're good thickness, so they last a good amount of cuts - depending, of course, on how much you use yours. I'd buy them again!

An essential accessory for the X-acto #X7747 Foam Board / Mat Cutter. After a few dozen long cuts on a mix of 3mm & 5mm Foam Board and 2mm Mount Board the blade starts to lose its sharpness leading to a slightly woolly appearance on the cut edge. These blades are relatively inexpensive and as they are reversible effectively doubles the quantity in the pack.

For some reason, when I started this review, Amazon asked me if I was at least 13 yrs old and a few questions about my rating of this "toy". LOL. Not really a toy, but ok. These are blade refills for X-Acto Foam Board Cutters that fit fine, but the quanitiy per pack is incorrect in the description. There are 5 blades per pack, not 50 as is indicated. Perhaps the supplier will see this review and edit the description.UPDATE: The quantity per pack in the description seems to have been corrected now. I'm changing my rating from 3 stars to 5 stars.

A set of spare blades does not cause much excitement, but they are well made, very sharp and do the job perfectly.
