Great little addition to my emergency items I keep in the car. Fairly light weight (but enough weight to feel its quality material) and large enough for adult. Good brand. Haven't used it during emergency yet so can't speak to actual performance in the cold but it sure gives me a certain peace of mind to have in the trunk.

This is a good addition to the emergency kit. its significantly bigger than most blankets and even sleeping bags. its functionally a double bed sized sleeping bag so it's def big enough you could also use it as a shelter. This is also notably thicker than some of the others i've used in the past. that does mean this is bigger.. all rolled up its about the size of a coffee cup. but worth the space for how big it is and the versatility that offers. Do note, once you fully open it up, you probably don't have enough patience to get it back in the provided stuff bag... but since they're meant for emergencies i appreciate its compact size.

This lighter sleeping bag is great for your hot and sultry nights when we go camping in Florida. I especially like that it comes with a storage bag. It had taken a permanent place in my camping gear.

I keep this Bear Grylls Emergency Bivy Survival Sleeping Bag Thermal Bivy in my car emergency bag and bring it with me on hikes too. I hope to never need it, but if I do, I want to be ready. This is a nice bright orange color (excellent visibility from far away). It has a good mylar lining to reflect that heat back on your body. The whistle drawstring clip thing isn't the best, but it's not the worst either. It's functional if there is no other option, but I have accidentally let the strings through too much and then had a bit of a time getting them back together to function as they should. However, that's not the main purpose of this, so it's not too big a deal.

Who knows? I don't know anything about movies or their quality so I can't speak on that. My initial impression is that these are cheaply made. The carrying sack has pipe screen printing and the box is a mess. That damage isn't from delivery. It came in an Amazon box that was fine. This item came crushed inside the box already. From what I can tell, the bivy is fine. If I have to use it any point, I'll report back as to its functionality. Currently, just got it as an emergency item.

This is a good product! It's similar to those mylar "space blankets" that are sold everywhere, but this is better as it's basically a double-wide sleeping bag made out of a very similar material. It's 5 feet wide and almost 7 feet long, no padding, just the thin-but-tough material which is orange on the outside and reflective silver inside. It comes rolled up in a storage bag about the size of a big mug. There is a whistle permanently attached to the drawstring. The material is a bit thicker than a space blanket and not as noisy. It's warm. It doesn't breathe at all, so it will keep you dry in the rain but you should have something breathable between you and the bivy or moisture can build up.One word of note: just like road maps and product directions, this bivy is machine-folded. There's no way to re-fold it down as small as it came. I managed to fuss with it for 15 minutes and got it down to only twice its original folded size. That should not deter one from getting it, as it's good, but just realize that once you use it, you'll need a larger stuff sack to re-pack it.

As the colder weather moves in, I have been updating my emergency car kit that I keep in the trunk. I live in a very cold, northern climate, so having a mylar blanket or such is key. I am replacing a couple old flat-style mylar blankets that have been in the packaging for over 15 years. This sack is great in that it is a bivy/sleeping bag style. This traps in heat much better than the old flat blanket style. It would also double as a nice emergency blanket for car crash victims who are going through shock. The sturdy little sack it comes in keeps it nice and protected. I just hope that I never have to use it. But it gives a lot of peace of mind just knowing it's in my kit.

A lot of times items like this tend to be just a little bit gimmicky, or even just made cheaply to try to get a quick buck. The only thing gimmicky about this is the little whistle on the drawstring. When you consider what it’s trying to be, that it’s meant to be a an emergency sleeping bag, it fits that bill pretty well. Some things that are nice, it has a lot of room inside, also the idea that it’s a bag instead of just a blanket is really nice, that way you won’t be fighting drafts all night long or breezes and other problems. The material is sturdier than the flat silver emergency blankets you see so often. I believe that you could use this a few times before it tore or caused you any issues. The storage bag is a little small, but with some diligence, you can get the sleeping bag back inside it. one thing you want to keep in mind if you use it is that it is not porous or breathable like cloth or fabric, so you will need to let fresh air in once in a while to keep from building up too much moisture, otherwise you will get wet and cold.
