This blanket is really important to have in your home. It is big, and it can definitely be a functional and safe thing in case of emergencies. If you’re considering getting one, I totally recommend it.

Haven't actually used the blankets to put out a fire. They seem well made and look like when needed they will do what they are made to do. hang the bag, pull the taps cover the fire. a big plus is they never expire.

I do a fair bit of tinkering, welding, grinding etc and have managed to start a couple small fires in the garage. I love having these around for smaller fires where I don't want to use an extinguisher and all the mess they make.While I haven't used this one yet, I did hit the edge with a butane torch and while it discolored a bit, it didn't burn. So I think this will perform every bit as good as others I've used in the past.In the garage I mounted one next to the door that goes into the house and by the large garage door. Pretty hard to miss and always nearby.In the house I mounted on the back side of a closet door near our kitchen and on the back of another door at the other end of our house. So you open the door and there it is, no hunting for it when you need it.

It's hard to write much of a meaningful product review, it's pretty much a 1 time use product, sealed in a bag. You pull the tear/release tab and spread the blanket over the fire. Nice quality outer bag, it appears to be a high density fabric, tight weave, to keep the blanket inside sealed from the air and light. Good purchase and for lots of purposes, better than a extinguisher, no expiration in the sealed bag.

I've been using fire suppression blankets for a long time, so I felt the need to expand my supply. This 2-pack of emergency fire blankets has been an invaluable addition. Although I still have extinguishers in my fire safety kit, these 40" x 40" fiberglass blankets work better than standard fire extinguishers for small flames. The blankets work really well at putting out fires without creating the mess associated with fire suppression powders or fluids.These blankets have been purposefully placed throughout my house so that they are accessible in an emergency. In addition, I added this two-pack to our camping and outdoor activity supplies. Their small and lightweight design makes them simple to transport and store, providing us with peace of mind on camping vacations and family BBQs at the beach or park.I lost my home to a kitchen fire in 1995 and previously served as a volunteer firefighter for 5 years, so I cannot emphasize the importance of being prepared. While these blankets are useful for small fires, it is vital to notify emergency officials if the situation worsens. Grease fires, in particular, can be reignited due to hotspots.Ultimately, I strongly recommend these fire blankets for their effectiveness, simplicity, and critical role in fire safety at home and outdoors.

As others have mentioned, it is difficult to write a meaningful review when opening the product for no reason will ruin it. This is a one use item, but an important one. I like this over an extinguisher because even kids can use this where the extinguishers can be heavy and confusing to use. I am going to give three stars for meeting expectations. If I have to use, I will update.
