The USA made SOS Brand, US Coast Guard approved Food Rations and Water Pouches included in this kit have a 5-YEAR SHELF LIFE from manufacture date, are space-efficient, require no extra water to rehydrate, no reheating, and were developed with a low sodium content as to not induce unnecessary thirst.

The SOS brand food and water carries a 5-year shelf life from date of manufacture. Other items like the light sticks, first aid kit, and batteries will be less effective over time, so we recommend replacing them at the same time as the food and water.
Here at Emergency Zone, we work very hard to minimize the time of these products are in the warehouse or Amazon fulfillment centers. The bag is about the size of a regular elementary child's book bag (perfect for my seven year old) with room enough to add a set of clothes and a few other small items to customize to your liking. Living in an area that is prone to hurricanes, this survival kit offers peace of mind.

This is a really good product. I bought 2, black and purple. Has just about everything you could think of that will keep your child safe should, Heaven forbid, he/she ever gets separated from you. Contents are well thought out and well packed. I added a bivy sack into each and a ferro rod for the older child. We keep them in a convenient place in the home for a quick grab and go. Each pack is about 6 lbs so it's easy for them to manage. Went through each item with them so they'd know what to do. Money well spent.

I really liked this product. I want to order more but they are out of stock. I recommend this for a beginner earthquake/disaster bag. I am pleased with this purchase.

It was nothing like I had anticipated or hoped for...everything was so CHEAP. I have been in a natural disaster so I know what is needed and some things can't be cheap. Like the child's water bottle, really, or toothbrush, children are ruff on toothbrushes. And, really that small thing of soap, looks like it was stolen from a motel. And where was the shampoo. A Pencil withOUT an eraser, OK. There were so many flaws with this pack, I don't know where to begin...not well thought out in my opinion, AND almost everything in it was very CHEAP. This bag should have only been worth maybe $20 - $25 bucks, and that's for the water, rations, backpack, bars, emerg. blanket/warmers...I would not suggest that anyone purchase it....just saying....not if you are planning on using it for an emergency situation, otherwise you will need to replace almost everything in it...
