My first unit arrived with one wire loose that wasn't supposed to be loose. I tried to fix it but no use. I returned it and ordered another, it has worked great. My swamp cooler is humming again.

Great product for evaporative cooler but it is tricky to work with ac thermostats.Update: do not connect an ac thermostat to this product if you only want one fan speed. Just stick to the thermostat provided with the product. So far this product has worked well.

Nice to install, uses all low voltage wiring between the Thermostats and the Cooler. A bit concerned about the Plastic box and whether or not it can really deal with the elements like Hail and such. But this kit made wiring and installing thermostats in our new house very easy. The 110/220 High voltage wiring was only between our Main electrical panel and the Coolers.

My old unit went out on my evaporative cooler and luckily they still make these. I had the 21D28-1 and luckily the 21D28-6 has the exact same mounting holes on the circuit board. The new unit comes with a plastic external housing, where my old one was in a metal box. It was going to take a long time to unmount the old box and replace it with the new box. But I discover the circuit used the exact same mounting holes and was able to just replace the insides. My old product lasted 10 years, lets hope this one does too. I spent a little extra and bought the Emerson1F56N-444 thermostat, even though a different type comes with it. The 1F56N-444, has a current indoor temperature reading and a thermostat degrees. Where the one that comes with the unit, has numbers 1 thru 5 on it. It was a slight waste of money, but I took the front housing of the 1F56N-444 and replaced it on the unit the came in the box. That way I can see the temperature and actually know what degrees I'm setting the thermostat at. BTW, the 21D28-6 was a lot less on Amazon and I was able to get Prime 2 day shipping.

Our evaporative cooler was not working right, and after trying several things we realized that the controller that was connected between the thermostat & our Tradewinds evaporative cooler was bad. We were able to find the right unit after contacting our AC/Heating repair company to verify correct model as there were two crossover part numbers, & this was even cheaper than our repair company could get it for.

This was exactly what I was looking to replace on my existing Master Cool A/C unit. It was direct replacement for what had been installed originally. The installation instructions were clear and installation was not difficult at all.

I have had this controller for just over a year. The Fan Speed Relay switch stopped working. Although I have a two speed motor in my Evaporative Cooler, it will now only work on low. A friend who has the same control unit is experiencing the same problem. I am not able to buy a new switch. Emerson did not respond to my inquiry as to getting just that part. I will have to buy a whole new control unit. I chose this unit because the analog controllers have been pretty bullet proof for evaporative coolers in the past. Not so with this unit.
