This meter turns on and beeps, alerts you to emf's and that's about it. Even the humidity and temperature readings are way off.I compared to two other meters that are considerably more accurate, and they are fairly close in readings but this one is way out in left field. If you've ever used an AM band radio to detect emf's, that's basically the exact same thing you'll get with this meter. It will throw out numbers that the AM don't, but they are meaningless so you might as well stick with the radio and save some money. No, you won't know the actual readings, but you won't with this meter either.I won't mention the name of the other meters I compared to as I don't think it's allowed, but one starts with a T and ends with an "large open space" and the other starts with an A and the name might remind you of a guitar. Those aren't great, but if you really want a meter, they are much better than this thing. Otherwise, as I said, just a simple AM radio will be as accurate as this meter at a fraction of the cost.

Really the only point I feel I need to make is that the top red part that had the retractable plungers doesn't appear to open. We're talking about a device that get's full of sticky juice and you can't open it to clean it. Obviously you'll also get water in there while trying to wash it, so who knows what kind of mold and bacteria will accumulate in there over time. It works well enough, but I feel like I'll throw this out after a couple uses.

I've heard about these meters and wanted to find out about all this interesting stuff. I have been trying to learn bout using it and what it all means. The meter seems to work well and is fairly simple to use and understand, just need to find out what all the readings are telling me. I see that my filament drier is reading over 400 and my cell phone over 200, but that's when I am right on top of them. I back off a couple of inches or so and it takes a big drop. I'll get it figured out.As far as accuracy goes, I have no way to tell for sure, but it does seems to be accurate in my unknowledgeable opinion. It comes with batteries and a cloth storage bag. They even included and small screwdriver to insert/change the batteries. The meter is well built and easy to understand and operate. It detects EMF from electric and radio frequencies and you can use it for cell phones, Wifi and 5G. You can use it to test your computers, cell phones, toaster, just about anything that emits EMF.It is on the lower end of cost so I would say it's a good bang for your buck.I recommend this EMF Meter from the MESTEK Store is you are looking to get into EMF relatively inexpensively.

Good basic RMF detector If you are looking for hidden wireless devices, troubleshooting electrical systems, testing electronic enclosures, or the like this could be useful. If you are doing those things professionally, you will probably want to upgrade a bit. For most RF applications I think the lack of frequency information will make this less helpful but sometimes all you need to know is that something is being emitted. It's also a nice physical way for kids to experience an invisible part of the world if you are trying to bolster some STEM teaching. All of that said, I think for most people this is a fairly useless type of gadget. It has a nice display, and it feels like the build quality is OK. It It should stand up to basic office/home use but I wouldn't consider this for any sort of trade or field work where it actually matters. The method of switching modes is actually a bit confusing. There are two buttons that switch the mode, and each one toggles between a few different modes, but it isn't 100% obvious why there are two buttons or what sequence of settings you are going to get. I think they could have made it simpler by just having one button for the mode and switching between all of them, or one button for a top-level mode and a second button for sub-mode. That is a pretty minor issue though so I'm not going to take away stars. The other point is that in most environments nowadays there are a lot of RF sources, so it can be a bit difficult to get away from the baseline. Between WiFi, smart devices, computers, phones, and the 100 other things most people have at home that rely on radio signals to operate, this thing starts beeping pretty much as soon as you turn it on. That said, I was able to put it into a faraday cage (actually an RF blocking bag) and see that the signals were blocked. It also definitely registers when you get it close to an RF emitter such as a WiFi device. For MF detection, it also seems to work correctly. You can make it register by quickly waving a magnet over the antenna portion to generate some variations in the magnetic field. It behaved as I would expect.I had mixed results using it to find AC wires inside walls, but I think that was largely due to the walls and position of the wires. I was able to trace some wires so it did work. The manual is printed in tiny text and isn't great, but it walks you through the basics. It comes with a drawstring bag and uses three AAA batteries.

I am unsure this is a useful device. I got this to check radiation levels of a microwave oven, andHow much radiation my cell phone puts out. While it does pick up h field , when you get closeTo microwave, and goes into alarm, when you get with in 3 feet of it, I not sure how accurate it is or whether To be worried. I tried Doing some research of harmful levels or radiation microwave ovens andIt is inclusive. It be nice if the temperature reading on it was accurate but it reads high, compared to many other gauges I have, so all in all I think I’m left with useless device..
