I paid twice the cost for these because I thought they were made in America. They're made in Tawain, and have a 1 year Warranty. I'm seeing mixed reviews on the IRWIN gauges being American/Chinese made but they at least carry a lifetime warranty.

Works great on my aluminum 36 inch ruler. A little pricey though.

A friend let me use his stair gauges, and I knew I had to have my own. These things sure make laying out stairs a lot faster, and more accurate. I love em! Not necessarily a screaming price on them or anything, but they ARE cheaper than the store down the street, and I bought them from the comfort of my home, gotta love it.

There a quite a few brands that make stair gages some are odd shapes and some are just poor quality I like these Empire ones the best I have used so fare and I've been framing for 12 years. highly recommended !
