When you live and garden in Zone 9B, and you grow tired of erecting shade enclosures, you search for an alternative method of growing vegetables. This self-water rolling planter box is what I found. Knowing I was going to grow tomato plants in this planter box, I added poles for a trellis, and based on previous reviews, I used my handy dandy glue gun to glue the water filler neck in place. This planter box rolls around my patio nicely and can be brought under cover when the afternoon sun becomes to intense.

These are terrific for planting a few veggies. Our tomotoes did amazingly well this summer. Boxes are up on a bench so it's easier to tend the plants. Watering is easy with no guesswork. When the it's full, water runs out the full hole. Stop and water again in a few days (unless you get good rain). I will probably buy more.

I like the city pickers but for the same price I can get a super sturdy earthbox. I’m disappointed that the tray in this is warped and the tube for water just kind of floats around willy nilly. Unlike the earthbox where everything fits in place.
