Confession- I got this pot not only for tea, but for coffee as well... And I am happily surprised at how well it works for that!After unpacking from the securely shipped container, it was super easy to clean and set up. There's no major gimmick, you just put your leaves (or grounds) into the top container, triple check that your lever is up, then pour your hot water in. After 3-5 minutes, push the lever down to drain the water. Super easy, super clean. I would say this pot works about as well as a French press would for coffee.This is exactly what I was hoping for. The glass doesn't feel fragile, it is very easy to clean, and the magnetic ball aspect is really fun to watch and show off. Plus, this pot is easy to store and looks nice!

I got this because I make extremely spicy tea and I often leave the tea bags in the glass to get as much mileage as I can out of each bag and it gets gross when i forget to dump the bags out when I'm done.Now I use this teapot and the bags stay in the top section and I can keep making tea in the pot as long as I want without a bag ever touching my drinking glass. It's fantastic. I get extra use out of the tea bags too, though there's diminishing returns on that.Important notes: you have to remember to raise the magnetic lever that keeps the seal between the two sections closed before adding water or it will pour straight into the bottom. I keep a glass carafe around to pour water into when I do that so I can transfer it back in to the top.If you are mixing anything in like milk, sugar, instant tea (my spicy tea uses instant tea as a final step) don't do it in the teapot, especially not in the top. You will clog it and need to wash it out really thoroughly to get it working againAlso do not try to stir anything in the top with a metal spoon. Remember that the mechanism is magnetic! You'll open the seal and your water will end up in the bottom.
