Urethane crown moulding has become an increasingly popular choice for homeowners and builders alike due to its myriad benefits. Unlike wood, which can warp, crack, or rot over time, urethane is highly impervious to moisture and temperature changes. This makes it an ideal choice for areas prone to humidity or extreme weather conditions. Whether it’s installed in a bathroom, kitchen, or basement, urethane crown moulding maintains its shape and integrity, ensuring a long-lasting and reliable finish. Another notable advantage is its lightweight nature. Its lightweight characteristic simplifies handling and installation, making urethane crown moulding a popular choice for DIY projects and professional installations alike. Maintenance is another area where urethane crown moulding excels. Wood moulding requires regular upkeep, including painting, sealing, and potential repairs due to damage from critters or moisture. Urethane, on the other hand, does not attract critters, does not absorb water, and is impervious to cracking and chipping. A simple wipe with a damp cloth is usually sufficient to keep it looking new, making it an attractive option for those who prefer a low-effort maintenance routine.

The front profile looks the same but is dementionally different from stick to stick. The back side has mutile styles which does not match to be able to cut our mount the same from stick to stick. Looks like they have multiple molds and they do not pay attention to packaging the same mold of sticks in one shipment. Very poor in quality control.

the packing was non existent, i ordered 2 pieces, one came broken, the replacement came in a destroyed box but somehow the molding survived; there was no info about what type of glue to use, i experimented and found something that worked; it cuts easily and the finished installation looks good

This was my first time using the foam type molding. I liked the fact that I could have something so unique and yet so economical. I created a two tone paint job by adding 3 "pinstripes" into the corners of this molding. It really adds a distinctive look to the room. For the length of walls that I had I did need extra lap joints in the middle of the walls because the molding pieces were eight feet in length. This did create extra work for sure but the result was worth it. I had experience cutting crown molding using the coping method. The polyurethane foam was able to be coped in the same fashion as wood. It actually was much easier because I could use sandpaper and a utility knife to trim the ends. I painted the molding before I installed it. To install the molding I used a brad nailer air gun with 2 1/8" nails. I chose not to use adhesive because I didn't want to mess with all that goop. I first tried using caulking made for foam moldings for the joints but that stuff sucked. I then went with regular drywall spackle and that worked amazingly well. A couple of layers feathered out and sanded, then touched up with paint finished the job.
