As a home DIY enthusiast, I've always prided myself on troubleshooting and rectifying minor car issues. Recently, my Boxster presented a concerning sign: a thick plume of white smoke on startup. After some research and consulting with fellow Porsche enthusiasts, I concluded that a faulty air/oil separator was the likely culprit. For the uninitiated, the separator plays a pivotal role in collecting and redirecting residual gases and vapors from the crankcase back to the intake manifold. This not only ensures efficient combustion but also aids in reducing harmful emissions.Upon purchasing the Engine Air / Oil Separator specifically designed for the Porsche Boxster 986 models (1997-2002), I was immediately impressed with its build quality and precision fit. The installation process was straightforward, especially with the help of a couple of online tutorials. Since the replacement, the startup smoke issue has completely vanished. This worked perfectly, and was way cheaper than anything Porsche would provide. Great stuff great price.
