We just finished installing this on my '15 Forester that we use around our orchard. These boxer engines need a lot of preventative maintenance but then deliver longevity of service if crucial parts are replaced. So at 120,000 miles, this timing kit was maybe overdue, although the old chain and sprockets and guides didn't look too bad. Still, we installed everything included in the kit, which is very complete with all we needed.Chain is strong and well made, and the guides are a hard plastic but not brittle; tensioners are strong and well-sprung. VVT gears have good amount of appropriate play in them with good movement - these are well machined. Fit is perfect and installation is no problem once everything is out of the way and the timing covers are off of both sides of this boxer engine. Clearly it's a lot of kit for the cost, making it a great value, and our Forester 2.5L is running very well without chain noise and timing is spot-on.

I used this engine timing chain kit to replace the worn-out timing components in my 2014 Subaru WRX, and it worked perfectly.
