Received the timing light to time my 70 Chev 350v8. Found and hiLited the mark, started the truck, put the timing light to the flywheel after hooking up the light properly. Light at first operated only sporatically. Readjusted the battery connections and tried again. This time the light flashed properly, but when aimed at the flywheel would not light up my mark at all.

I liked this set. It is very BASIC but well worth the money. You need to block out the outside light to see the strobe light because it is not very bright. The feeler gauges are good. Good BASIC set for a small price.

I purchased this after reading some mixed reviews, but they were mostly good. I needed it in a hurry and the price was right.I tore into everything and had a friend over to help run the throttle while I checked/set the timing with the light. It was fairly dark in the engine bay and the first thought was that this light was not very bright, as others have commented. It would have worked though, had it not burnt out after 20 seconds of use. That left me in a bit of a pinch now with the car out of time and not much that I can do about it until I find another light. I recommend passing on this timing light. Another note is that the spark plug clamp is not a great design and is not snug on the wire. It seemed to work while the light was working, I guess. Just not sure if the loose fit might affect the accuracy. I don't know.

Timing light works great. Used it in broad daylight to time a VW dune buggy, so its bright enough to get the job done. The feeler gauge set is really cheap, and fell apart on first use. Easy enough to fix, just a hassle

I bought this timing light to work on my classic 1991 Miata / 1992 TBI Small block Chevy / 350 motor in my 1995 GMC Sierra with electronic ignition , it was a bit intermitent at first but once engine was warmed up it worked a treat , just connect wires to battery and sensor to spark plug 1 and away you go .Simple to understand the instructions and the strobe light shows the timing marks clearly in operation. I used a sharp black pencil to make my engine timing marks stand out.Make sure that the arrow mark on the lead sensor clamp is pointing towards the spark plug, as the arrow mark is not obvious until you look for it.A great item for the classic car enthusiast. Easy to use, good hand grip with pistol style trigger switch for comfort of use. good bright light.
