Leatherwork is beautiful and well-made. Graded down due to shedding of lining that sticks to my rifle when removed.

I have a bunch of Mexican leather goods, scabbards, buscaderos etc.....I was getting this to go with a buscadero rig I got for my niece. I was hoping it would be as good as the other stuff I have acquired over the years.First, this is the only one I've ever seen/had that was in two pieces....which might not have been so bad except that where the two main pieces join the leather was shaved thin (I guess to make sewing together easier?) so it is very weak there and wants to bend/fold over...not good.The biggest disappointment is that the luggage style handle is WAY TOO FAR FORWARD!Even empty, when picked up it swings butt down. With a 16" barreled Winchester in it it goes butt down immediately.....so your rifle would be in the dirt. If you put a 20" in it it would be even worse.Then there's the color. Orange and black, not brown.I could have removed the handle and repositioned it, but then there would be brad holes and stitching holes left, and that hideous color....so I'll just make her one myself.

I received this two days ago and tried to get my rifle in but would not fit complete in. My rifle is a Henry Golden Boy 357 with 16" Barrell and large loop lever, It was the lever that prevented it from going into the scabbard all the way. I loved the look of the Scabbard but had to return it. If this company could make one that will work with the large loop lever I would be glad to buy another one.

I wanted a scabbard to protect a G-Force Huckleberry .357 lever action. The embossed leather on this is substantial, and the quality looks nice. It has a synthetic fur liner which is entirely adequate. It has a nice shoulder strap... and the color is pleasing. Only minor negative is the carry handle is too far forward, and that makes the over all balance carrying the rifle in that configuration too tail heavy.But, under 100?! No regrets at all.

Beautiful scabbard. Tooling is very nice. Like others have said, the carry handle is way too far forward so the rifle can and will fall out when carried that way. Needs to be moved way back towards the open end. Interior is nice but doesn't handle the cowboy lever action rifle as it's not wide enough. Cannot attest to the durability. I will take to a leather worker to get the handle moved and possibly have a retaining strap installed. Otherwise, after some break in, it should be fine.
