I have 2 stakes in the ground 14 feet apart. I have several of these setup in my yard. I used Stainless wire and these clamps and ran the wire from stake to stake. I then put firewood in between the stakes. Worked great, or so I thought. I went out in spring to "cleanup" from winter. I noticed that some of the nuts were missing. I put them on as tight as possible. I was shocked to see some missing. Vibration from the wind, snow and ice, I do not know what happened to them. Next time I will use lock tight or lock washers. only good thing is there was no rust on them from a hard buffalo ny winter.

Likes:Accurate product description, 304 stainless and works on plastic coated cable.Project:The clamps were used on an outdoor pool deck string light system with aircraft cable. I liked them so much I’ve placed another order through Amazon for an exterior railing/pool shower project.Dislikes:None at this time, will monitor rust resistance over time. Saltwater pool in Florida should be a sufficient test.

I clamped steel cable that is 1/8" and is vinyl coated. The tricky part is holding the cable together well enough to get the nuts started on these clamps. What I really like is that they don't stick out to much. Other clamps are larger and would be in my way for my purposes, so these work great for me.

I have installed them and they seem to be fine. Not sure if they are going to rust, but we shall see.

I used three to overlap-join a broken cable that takes about a 50 pound load. No problem. (One would probably have worked.) And being stainless steel, they should last a lifetime.

There's a lot of sellers on Amazon selling various versions of these wire clamps. It's kind of a gamble trying to figure out which one to choose. I took a chance on these and so far are very happy with them.I used these to secure vinyl coated 1/8 wire for the purpose of hanging commercial grade string lights in the back yard. These wire clamps have done very well so far. The clamps have a good weight and feel solid. The nuts and u-bolt function well, and there were the correct amount of nuts provided in to match the clamps. Everything fit well and was well machined. To truly accurate secure the wire rope, I did strip the vinyl back prior to clamping. There was enough room between the nuts that I could use a 7/32 ratchet to tighten the nuts.I have put up the wire rope and string lights over 2 months ago, and everything has been stable. We've had a few strong thunderstorms with high gusty winds and the wire clamps have held the wire rope in place and the string lights are still up, despite swinging wildly at times. Overall, am happy with these wire clamps and have had no trouble so far.
