Suitable for all disciplines (English, Dressage, Jumping, and Western) The Equiband system is a completely unique design that promotes continuous core activation during ridden, lungeing, or in-hand exercise. The Equiband System is the only product of its kind that has been extensively tested and validated by veterinarians, professional equine sport therapists, and veterinary scientists. The Equiband system has been designed specifically to stimulate receptors in the horse’s skin and hair follicles. In response to this stimulation, the abdominal, oblique, sublumbar and deep neck and back muscles are activated. These muscles stabilize the spine, and engage the hindquarters during movement. Regular use of the Equiband system strengthens this core musculature, making it easier for the horse to work with an optimal posture, which reduces the risk of pain and injury due to hollowing or instability of the joints in the neck and the back. The abdominal band activates the musculature that supports the horse’s back and is especially indicated for horses that have recovered from a colic surgery, have poor (inverted) posture, and in clinical cases such as diagnosed conditions of the back, including ‘kissing spines’. The hindquarter band is especially indicated for horses with asymmetrical hind limb movement, poor engagement, and poor development of major muscle groups such as biceps femoris, as well as horses recovering from diagnosed musculoskeletal or neurological conditions (such as EPM). Had trouble keeping the pad in place with my surcingle when other reviews were so positive even when using a breast collar to keep it from sliding back. Then…. I realized that this western version I purchased didn’t have keepers (like the English version) for the surcingle to go through. After adding my own keepers to the pad it works much more effectively now.Equicore should add keepers to this version too!!!

This is an excellent way to help your horse return to optimum core strength after injury or time off. My vet did her master’s thesis research on this tool and it really works

This has proven to be a helpful training aid for my horse who lacks abdominal engagement and has a hollow back. The product website has helpful videos that make fitting and understanding how the unit works easy. My horse who is not fond of saddles and straps took to it just fine. The key is to use it lightly and introduce slowly over time.

I had high hopes for this product but after trying it I realized I spent way to much on a bad saddle pad and some PT bands. The product and website look fancy but sizing and adjusting was a bit messy. After sizing it as instructed the pad ultimately pulled out from under the surcingle. There is no FAQ on the website either. A bit disappointed and I rarely leave a review. I will give it another shot though
