This is not for the heavy handed or beginner. But I’m the right hands this is a great hackamore. My horse responds to the slightest cue. I use this with romal reins. Be aware the nose band is metal covered in leather so you MUST know how to use this piece or don’t buy it.The one other thing to be aware of is when my horse drinks on rides the shanks will dip into the water because they’re lengthy and so will your reins where they attach to the shanks so just be aware of that. Rusting hasn’t been an issue for me however but fyi.This was a great buy in my opinion, again, in the right hands. My horse is comfortable in this and he will certainly let me know when he’s not, he has not had issues carrying this hack. Fit can be adjusted by pulling the noseband apart or pressing it in for a more snug fit.

For some reason it didn't fit any of my horses. Looked like it might of gotten bent in shipping. But it just didn't sit right on the bridge of nose and super tight no slack. I had to return but it was a nice looking bit none the less.
