I liked the scissors and the needle threader, and the selection of needles. There is plenty of thread for each project too. I think the instructions are too basic and I ended up searching youtube for leaf embroidery tutorials for example, but that's the only drawback. Overall very good kit!

I ordered this set because of the designs and I love the black fabric. While I haven't started the project yet I can make some judgements from what I see.The kit comes with 1 plastic hoop, one pack of 9 needles, a threading tool, a seam ripper, scissors, and 5 individually wrapped project packs.The tools: the tools are all clearly fairly low quality, chances are the scissors will go in the kids craft drawer, the threader will break rather quickly, the seam ripper isn't terrible, I'll add it to my tool kit. The plastic hoop is sturdy enough to work the project, an ok reusable tool. The needles are milliners instead of embroidery needles, for me I find this to be a positive because I prefer milliners but the size selection of these isn't great, there's a lot of the larger sizes designed for use with all 6 strands, it is my preference to work with no more than 3 strands max at a time. Overall, for the cost of the kit I'm not going to complain about any of these tools.The actual project kits: included in each individually packaged project bag is a sheet of assorted color floss, a black stamped canvas, the image is clear and easy to see, and a sheet with very basic instructions regarding basic stitches and colour placement. If you are a super beginner you will need to look up some videos on YouTube, these instructions are not super user friendly, but they aren't crazy difficult, and the stitches all appear to be fairly basic. The thread feels cheap, which isn't great for beginners because chances are it will be difficult to work with and knot up a lot. Though I haven tried it yet, so I can't say 100%. Generally I expect low quality floss from these types of kits and simply go out and buy the matching DMC floss to use instead, passing on the included floss to my nieces for friendship bracelets. Its usually about $0.66 at JoAnns. One of the biggest issues I have with this kit is that the DMC colour codes are NOT listed anywhere. You will need to attempt to color match if you are looking to upgrade to quality floss.I think the lack of DMC numbers is the biggest issue I have with this kit, and the main reason I'm not giving it a full 5 star review. Aside from that I got pretty much what I expected for the price and I'm happy with the purchase.Update: I've completed one pattern and spent some time on a second one. The stamped pattern chips off very easily when you put the needle through it and washes away very easily. With the first pattern it faded off so quickly I needed to use aq white fabric pen within the first day just to make sure I still had a pattern to work off of. The second one is holding up significantly better, not sure if the first one was just a bad batch? Either way I managed to get the pattern marked before the pink stamp disappeared completely.
