This thing is absolutely huge! Make sure you have a good stir plate/bar. Note that the bottom is NOT completely flat. Nice thick glass. Poured boiling wort directly into it then straight into an ice bath. No problem. Do not directly heat.

I’m afraid it will explode if I try use it, it’s full of imperfections and looks seconds hand with big burn marks in the inside that I can’t remove. Also the bottom is very dished so not suitable for stir plate, also when you measure the actual volume at the 5l mark it only holds 4.6l.. that’s a long way of 5L.

Bottom is concave. Good flask, but that’s important to know if using with stir bar. Still works, but difficult to get going.

Thick glass, and excellent quality. Handles hot liquids with ease, and easily washes. It's clear, not like the blue tinge you see in the picture -- which I'm thankful for.

First time using it, heating up a yeast starter for brewing, it exploded 3L of sticky wort all over my stove. 0 stars, would not recommend.

With a stir plate, 1 billion yeast cells, 4.5 liters of 1030 wort and this beaker I can grow 8 billion more cells.

I use this for making yeast starters. I boil the wort on a gas stove, then it goes directly into cold water. It handles this extreme with no issues. I'm using a 5L stir plate with it and it is a perfect setup for starters. I see no imperfections that some have mentioned. It looks and feels like a quality item you'd find in a lab.

This is a very good flask depending on your application. Unfortunately for me, it cracked on my stove just now after only about a month and a half of use. It cracked while I was boiling water in it on my electric stove - a task my Pyrex flasks are able to accomplish with ease. If you don’t need to boil on a stovetop, this is a fantastic flask, and i recommend it at five stars. However for that application, it does not accomplish its purpose, and I am forced to give it less stars
