If you need to split a single drop in an office into multiple, this is pretty decent to do the job. It's not just a dumb hub but does have some smarts behind it.I didn't have enough high volume devices to test collisions to see if that impacted speeds, but with my limited tests I didn't have any issues.If you have a network printer(s) and a computer, fax, etc that you need to add in an office, this would be a good inexpensive choice to give quick expansion.

Very easy and simple, made of good quality materials and works flawlessly! Just simply connect the power source and connect the main ethernet to the main ethernet port and then your auxiliary ethernets to wherever and it is up and going just like that so needless to say highly recommended!

Funzionamento perfetto dopo installazione veloce; le istruzioni sono un po' scarne ma la presa di cross-over è girata rispetto alle altre quindi non ci si può sbagliare.Non scalda, dispone di due led per ogni porta (purtroppo sono entrambi verdi), anche se l'involucro è di metallo lo switch risulta molto leggero. Cavo di alimentazione piuttosto corto ma, eventualmente, si può mettere una prolunga usb.L'imballo fa riferimento ad un device video ma si tratta di un refuso (o di un imballo riciclato).

I’m in the process of converting some security cameras from Wi-Fi to hard-wired Ethernet, and I ordered this Ethernet splitter for the extra inputs. I was confused when the package came because the box is labeled “Audio Converter”. I was hesitant to break the seal because I might have to send it back. But it turned out to be exactly what was ordered.Connections are obvious, with the connection to my router being flipped from the others. It does not come with a power module, only an adapter cable to connect to a USB power source. But most of us have a spare USB charger. Or just steal power from a nearby computer. There may also be some confusion over whether this is actually just a “splitter”. My understanding is that a splitter can only handle traffic on one port at a time. But the description says “the signal transmission of two cable groups will not interfere with each other”, which is more indicative of a switch. As a test I’ve been running all our computers through it, and have not noticed any decrease in speed. The only negative is that it is more expensive than similar Ethernet switches from better-known brands. But maybe that will show up in long term reliability.

I agree with some of the other reviewers and don't understand why this is labeled as a "splitter" and not a "switch". Well, not matter what you want to label it, you can definitely call it AWESOME!!I have a 2GB/s internet connection which allowed me to put this through it's paces and see how good it really is, and frankly, I was impressed. I connected it to my router then connected two laptops and ran speedtest.net tests simultaneously multiple times and I was very impressed, both in individual and multiple connections downloads. Of course the speeds did drop while using both connections, but not as much as you would think.I did like that fact that you can use a USB cable connection as a power source which makes it so much easier to just throw in your go bag and go. No worrying about separate electrical connection for this, just plug it into any USB port with the supplied cable and your ready to go. SO much better!!This is going straight into my go bag and I'm sure it will see lots of use coming up because as any tech knows, you're always on call. If not for work, then for family and friends. LOL.A+++++

I have my home’s router near my entertainment center and NAS box and I found I needed more than the 4 ports that were included to wire all my devices. This device ended up being a simple way to expand the number of ports.Confusingly, this arrived in a box labeled “Audio-Vido Processor”, but in fact was the small ethernet router box indicated by the listing.The device is powered by an unusual cable that adapts the 5V supply from a USB standard B connector to a round DC power connector. Conveniently, my wireless router has a USB port on it, so I was able to power this box by just plugging it into the router without using an additional USB power supply.After powering on, I was able to simply jumper an ethernet cable from one of the ports on my router to the input port on this device and I was then able to plug into the expansion ports with additional devices. I haven’t noticed any performance or connectivity impacts from using this router.Be mindful of pricing on this, given that many alternatives are similarly capable.
