I was surprised when I saw the Mandrel and it flat envelope. Upon opening it, it was a plastic flimsy board that would not hold a heavy piece of jewelry.

Yes, the item is flimsy but there is nothing out there yet beside this one that can measure a necklace correctly in that shape. I tried to laminate it but some people are worry in case the lamination machine wrinkle some part in the process of lamination. So, I decided to buy a poster board that is flexible (not made of paper but rather made of the same material as the prop). I went home and traced the shape. I used a double sided tape and the poster board became the backbone of the prop. And now, I got me a sturdy necklace prop.

Not what I expected. Was hoping for a thin plastic material for sturdiness. I can probably glue this to a thin placemat and cut to size to allow it to hold the weight of chokers. The measurements will be useful

Didn’t like the fact that this was made of paper that had to be put together and it’s not sturdy enough to hold the pieces that I make as necklaces

The sizer arrived flat and in good condition. I was disappointed to find out that once you put it together you can't take it apart. Storage will be difficult. I try to keep my work area clear and this will take up valuable space. I haven't used it yet but the directions that came with it are pretty clear. A good addition to my jewelry "tools".

I can't believe how easy this necklace mandrel makes sizing my exsisting and newly created necklaces. I previously used a tape measure and measured the necklace folded in half and doubled this measurement. This mandrel sits on my work table and I don't have to hunt down a tape measure. Also, if the necklace has an unusual shape to it, the mandrel will accomodate this fluxuation in length and give you the actual diameter of the necklace. When I create necklaces I don't use one of those beads trays which show you where and the measurement of my project, I can just stretch it around the mandrel. Plus if I have a special order I can better control the actual finished length to give my customer a fitting piece of jewelry. Also, when I go through ALL of my chains I can just slip my necklace over the mandre...saves time. I Love It.
