The AF Patch is made using a Kevlar™ and polyester lamination. It offer extreme durability and enhanced beater click. The stress-relief slots around the edge ensure the thickness of the patch won't choke the head by allowing the patch to flex with the natural motion of the head.

I've bought many versions of a bass drum beater pad and this has been the best as far as adhering to electronic mesh drum head.

Hey drummers! If you're tired of having big ol' dents in your kick drum from getting over excited with your kick drum foot then this is NOT the product for you. Go get yourself one of those aluminum beater pads and stick that to your kick drum (or somewhere else). However! If you're looking for a patch for the beater of your kick pedal to aim at, and protect the paint on your drum head, then I think you'll be very pleased with this product.Attachment (don't we all have attachment issues?): Make sure you have your kick pedal attached to the kick drum the way you want it to set and make sure your kick drum head is relatively clean - give it a good wipe down with window cleaner (something that won't leave a film) and then dry it up super good. Then press your beater against the drum head with your hand. Slide the patch under your beater and, using a pencil (or sharpie, whatever) lightly trace the outline of the patch on your drum head. Take off the kick pedal, peel the backing off the patch, and stick it. Wait, I mean stick it to your drum head. The kit I play on has multiple drummers who use it and sees a lot of action. I put this pad on around 4-5 months ago and it's still in one piece and is doing a great job of protecting the drum head (and kick drum heads are not cheap to replace). Go get yourself one... And stick it!

This is a great little impact pad that doesn't over muffle a smaller bass drum. I'm using it on an 18" bass drum for a jazz set that needs a little more resonance for acoustic gigs that don't mic the drums. It did exactly what I wanted it to do, so I'm really happy with it. I have larger single and double impact pads on my bigger bass drums that don't make much difference in the sound on a 22" or 24" drum with other muffing and ported front heads but this little guy does the trick on the bop set.

The AF patch does what it claims: the head doesn't get slightly muffled by the patch, it protects the head for longer life and it adds a nice slap attack sound. All three things are exactly what I want from a bass drum patch.The remo falam slam is good but a little more muffled and doesn't add attack.

Works well on my restored 68/69 Rogers bass drums. Get little longer life out of he head. Would recommend to others
