Let's face it, switching presets on the H9 without the app is a pain and sometimes you just don't have the time to dance around on one leg to carefully navigate. This allows you to have your active and tempo buttons always do what you want them to do while still giving you access to easy preset switch buttons. You can add a 3rd pedal if you want I think, but I use an expression pedal sometimes and unfortunately, you'll need to switch functionality in the app and it disables one of the buttons. I am still really glad I got it and the build quality is worth the price. I think this is a great quality of life system for the H9 that everyone should consider.

If your wanting a hands free option to scroll through presents this is a very cleaver pedal.But if you already have a Midsion engineering Sp/h9 the input jack is dead so you couldnt ad another exp pedal and latch switch on top this barn 3 attachent

Not sure why Eventide doesnt build this functionality into the H9 in the first place. This thing made an already fantastic pedal even more fantastic. This combined with my H9 enabled me to clear out some significant amount of real estate on my pedal board AND my sound quality was taken to a whole new level. I cant say enough good things about it. You definitely will enjoy it more if you READ EVERYTHING in the user manual.

When I was shopping for an Eventide H9, I kept seeing pictures of them with the OX-9 attached. I purchased one out of curiosity and was so impressed, I immediately bought another one for my second H9. What does it do? It is an extra pair of stomp switches that allows you to assign a variety of the H9's switching functions to them. The H9's standard set-up is extremely versatile, but you only have so many multi-function switches. The OX-9 lets you add another pair to ease up on the double-duty switch assignments. Those assignments are easily done through the H9 app - no MIDI knowledge or extra cabling is required. The OX-9 plugs directly into the H9 and the entire unit is fastened to the H9 with supplied hardware. Installing and/or removing the OX-9 is a breeze - less than a minute. It also works with expression pedals - there is an input jack for the pedal on the right side of the OX-9 with a slider switch to recognize the pedal input. The OX-9 is beautifully designed and incredibly well-built; it's a worthy upgrade to the H9.
