The package is clearly marked for which ring groove they belong to but no instructions. The only issue that I had was the top compression ring. The original ring top ring is marked for the upside. The new replacement top ring is not marked (like the original) and that is because the new ring can be installed either way. I didn’t know that when I bought these and had to call customer service. By the way, customer service was excellent. I would recommend instructions should be included to clarify this difference in the OEM ring and the new rings.
