I have a 3 year old I bought these for and he loves them… when I can build him something. These aren’t as magnetic as I thought they were going to be but I can still pair the square pieces with other magnet blocks to make the structures stronger. I do find the once I almost get done building something it’ll collapse on me, the main reason being is the connectors for the tube pieces are the strongest and difficult to attatched to an already built structure. Nonetheless once everything is built the fun does last quite sometime.

The video and pictures made this toy look nice but we were not able to build any decent structure as the pieces would not stay together. The magnets are not strong enough to provide stability for a foundation to build a multi-level structure. The interlocking pieces for the tubes do not remain attached to its connectors causing the structure to fall apart when assembling a maze. It was frustrating to me and my grandson as it kept falling apart every time we attempted to build a maze. This toy has lots of colorful pieces and my grandson would enjoy it if it performed as illustrated in the pictures. In my case, it did not perform as intended resulting in me to seek a retrun/refund for this product. I was not satisfied and would not recommend buying this toy unless a solid foundation is added to support a maze or designing better interlocking connections that hold the pieces in place when building a structure.

Bought this for a child for Christmas. The child and parents seemed happy.

Really wanted to like it but my kids playing with it for 5 seconds causes it to fall apart. The connectors are very shallow and if one section gets pulled then everything comes apart will find a different marble run which relies on compression instead of tension for stability

Had my twin grandkids over today and we decided to build a simple structure with this, they are 3 1/2 years old so they should be on the bottom of age group for this set. We chose one of the simpler examples which was like 3 blocks high and simply shows 3 magnetic blocks stacked on top of each other on one end for support. That's not going to cut it. Every time we tried to do something, adjust tighten, or add the whole thing came crashing down. The first picture shows our final product and it was somewhat stable. After they left I was getting ready to review this and so went back and made another pass at the structure. Where we had simply built a square of blocks to provide support (which didn't work well, these magnets are not as strong as blocks by other brands), I replaced it with 2 blocks and 1 1/4 ramp. Compare the 2 closeup pictures I uploaded and you will see what I mean. Once you start going this route you will be building a more stable structure, and also you can build another independent set of ramps that can be used. I will be honest, it was fun/frustrating at first until you get the gist for how to make it a more stable structure, once you have that done it is pretty easy to add on. Kids didn't want to leave after it was built they played with it for about 1/2 hour just watching the ball go thru the tubes. We will try to make a larger one tomorrow when they are over. This would have been a 5 star product if the magnetic blocks would have had better magnets. An also you need to understand, that not all parts are magnetic, only the blocks are. The other parts attach to the block, or each other by use of the small U shaped pieces. As far as age appropriate, yeah the 3+ year olds were able to attach the parts and make modifications with no issue, but they needed guidance when it comes to adding stability. I actually got this for use with my other set of twin grandkids who are not quite 3 years old, the boy in that set likes to build things and would be fascinated with this for hoursUpdate: that massive drop you see in the photo, it won't last. Kids came over the next day and when the marble went down the chute and hit the bend at the bottom the speed of the ball pretty much popped off the pieces every time. Thus for building something like this I think you might need some Kragle (from the lego movie)
