Another Update now that it's been about three years of usage. I continue to find more ways to use this device labeled as an OTDR device when actually it's like a Gerber Multitool where I keep finding more ways to use the device making it more valuable especially in the technology field. A friend needed me to troubleshoot their external HDMI computer monitor as has issues. I went out onto the web and search for diag apps and test patrons for monitors. Found many which were free to download. Once the apps and test patterns were downloaded and install, it open another nice feature for this OTDR tester as a way to send test patterns to an external monitor as a way to diagnosed display issues. I can see what the test patterns should look like on the OTDR display while observing the external monitor for an exact match. Saved having to purchase a monitor tester which met me saving money and adding addition capabilities to my OTDR.Update: it's been almost two years since I purchased my OTDR tester and continue to enjoy all the features this device has. I'm now retired so not out in the field as often as when I purchased my device but still find myself going to this device as my everything test box when doing repairs or upgrades to my existing home network which is much more than an average home network. Also continue to have old customers as well as others asking me to come solve their network issues. So this device has lived up to being very dependable. Updates to the software applications are easy done. Would I buy this device again if ever had to, yes is my answer. Thought I would provide an update for anyone interested as this device is like a Swiss army knife where it can do so much and allow one to add their own diagnostic apps for use with the onboard ports.I have had ownership of the Eversecu OTDR fiber / Ethernet / camera / tester for several months now and can say I am very please with how well it functions. The seller has been very good regarding communications and providing application / firmware updates which resolve some simple issues with the device. I have used the device to troubleshoot fiber and Ethernet circuits for multiple airlines at the local international airport using this device along with additional devices normally use along with a network tester such as this unit. So far it has held up very well, long battery life and fairly quick to charge up. The display and touch screen is excellent. The device is running a special version of Android so Google Play store is not available for use to update apps or download other apps. There are third party store apps which can be download as there plenty of room to install additional network app tools and reference guides to have available when testing circuits. Comes with an excellent Ethernet external cable tracer and also has several additional features which is handy to have when onsite testing circuits. I have downloaded and install several additional networking tools to use along side the included apps already installed which there are already plenty to use which are included so the device is ready to use out of the box. The built in cover at first thought it might be an issue but actually has not and is a great way to keep the display from getting damaged and also at the same time provide a way to shield out bright sun light from the screen. It seems to be built well and study for everyday use. Awhile back one of my own main computers which is used for video editing in my studio died with a bad power supply. Once the repairs was done, I decided it was also time to do some upgrade while I had the computer open. I had the computer at one of my workbenches to do the repairs which didn't have a computer monitor available to use for testing my repaired computer but then instead of bringing a computer monitor over to the workbench I ended up using the EVERSECU OTDR camera testing features which allowed the device be used as a computer monitor which made it very nice. Since then I have also used it for testing my IP security cameras and do additional installations of cameras using this device. So guess one could say this device is like a Swiss Army Knife which has many features than just for OTDR usage. There are other OTDR out there for sale but majority of the ones which are cheaper do not have all the same features as this one and only have a small screen to work with. There are a couple features missing on this device which is the OPM, but then one can buy one of those for not too much cost and many times those are handy to have as an additional device to use when troubleshooting a fiber circuit at one end of the cable from where the OTDR is located so not a major issue not being built in. The built in network test are very nice and handy to use and even have simple help screens which can be display at any time without having to leave the screen one is using. Having where one can add additional apps to use with the device helps to make this a good all around network fiber camera tester to have. I have even installed putty for access to cisco network switches and remote access apps to allow remote access when onsite and additional support is needed to do any configurations of network switches. It is also handy to troubleshoot wifi issues and more things than I can remember to even include in this write up without this being very long. Don't think one will be disappoint in buying one of these with all the features it comes with. It also comes in a very nice bag to carry the unit when going to customer sites. I will have to say it has become my go to tester when I get any networking calls as I can have this one device to do fiber and Ethernet along with security cameras or even remote into network switches. Oh and yes it does work with POE switches.
