I got this for my cousin's mini bike and it worked well. I was tired of him leaving our house super late with his loud bike because we're pretty close to neighbor's houses, so I got him this and it was very easy to install and did an awesome job of silencing the deafening roar.

The pipe is made well, and a good price. It just isn't what they say it is.The person writing the description for this product likely never had it in their hands and does not know what it is or what is included in the box. It is a used collimator. It straightens out swirling flows of exhaust gas. It isn't really an expansion chamber, though it looks like one. The volume of the collimator plate eats into the expansion volume. It is more like the flow restriction of a catalytic converter, but without the environmental benefit. Not terribly useful in general, but a good flow simulator for a cat, without the price tag. It is full of soot indicating it was previously attached to a running engine and cut off. Likely some company trying to recoup investment into a failed project by reselling the pretty bits they could salvage. Or possibly actual catalytic converters cut off the vehicles in the photos. I'd like to know the real origin so I can be sure I am not supporting catalytic converter theft in some way. There was no mention of these being used in the description, but the soot can be seen in the photos.It does not come with any instructions, or mounting hardware as claimed in the bullet points. Not even a tiny section of straight pipe at inlet or outlet. It is NOT easy to mount. The 2 cone shapes must be TIG welded. Doing that well is not easy, especially if they don't tell you what specific grade of stainless it is so you can use appropriate filler metal. 316, 308, 18-8, 304LN, ... who knows? The people that made it know. Why don't they tell the people that must weld on it? Perhaps because the seller has no relationship with the maker?Having been used on a running engine long enough to build up a significant carbon layer, that makes it even more difficult to weld consistently because some of that carburization may have worked into the metal. Or Hydrogen embrittlement may have occurred.I'm happy to add this piece to my collection of vehicle building parts to experiment with. It is a useful tool for that. Cheaper than I could make it for. Why don't they just say that instead of claiming it is something else? Because the person writing the description kind of knows what a muffler looks like and this kind of looks like a muffler, then he looked up synonyms for muffler.
