I got this so I could open the attic door without having to either ask my husband or get a stool. IT WORKS!My attic door has a ladder that unfolds and it's a pain if I have to get a stool, pull it down, move the stool, open ladder. Now I just pull it down and open ladder. I also use it to slow close it when done. Hook stores easily in my hall closet, which is right by my attic door. I keep finding things to use it for all around the house and sheds, may have to get another...or 2, lolComes with hook that screws into tip of pole, metal loop to attach to attic door, 4 screws with anchors and a hook you can use to hang stick on wall if you wanted, but also has a smooth plastic nub on end for resting on floor and lean against a wall or something.Quality materials, foam grippy handle, made of all aluminum (except clasps, they are plastic)Collapsed the handle is about 16" long, hook is 6" long, it has 2 clasps allowing it to be extended once, or twice, as needed. With hook - Single extend is 31" and fully extended is about 42". I'm 5'2" and have no issues reaching the hook in ceiling with it with it extended once. The 2 tabs to extend it open/close easily, even with my band hands and stays extended without slipping.Saves me time and energy and at 55 yrs old I'm all for that! This review is for: Extendable attic Pull Rod,attic Pull Down Hook, attic Ladder Pull Down Hook kit The Set Includes a 40-inch telescoping Rod, 1 Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Pulling Ring, and 1 Storage Hook

I actually ordered this not to be use an attic pull down pull, but as a reaching pole to open shades that are hard to get to. Before, I would have to make my way around some end tables and a couch in order to open the window coverings each morning. When I saw the length of the pole, I just knew it would work perfect! Now I can easily extend this short pole and stand in front of the couch and open both sides of the window coverings with ease! Once I'm done, retract the pole and its compact size just hides in the corner by one of the end tables! The simple clamps to extend and retract the pole are so much easier then the twist and lock style poles! The pole itself is super lightweight and has a nice comfort grip on the end.

I recently received this extendable attic pull rod kit, and it works perfectly with the existing handle on my attic door. The telescoping rod is sturdy and feels solid in hand, and I really like how it collapses down for easy storage. It’s a major upgrade from the old rope I used to use, which constantly got tangled or wore out over time. The hook design is sleek and grips my attic handle securely without slipping. The three-section aluminum pole is lightweight but strong, and I feel completely safe using it to open and close the attic door. I didn’t have to modify anything thanks to the universal fit, which made setup effortless. The included stainless steel pull ring and storage hook are great add-ons, even though I didn’t need the ring since my attic already had a handle installed. I’ve also used the rod for other tasks around the house, like pulling down the garage door latch, and it works just as well. It looks a lot cleaner and more modern than a hanging rope, and it doesn’t get in the way. Overall, I’m really happy with the quality and functionality of this pull rod and would definitely recommend it to anyone with an existing attic handle.

This is nice, heavy duty pole and hook, however, acquired this to pull vaulted ceiling shades. The hook is rather large, but works just fine for the intended purpose. This extends just far enough to reach the bottom of the shade and pull down. For a regular ceiling and pull down attic door and ladder, I imagine this would work quite well. For our use, the extension to grad the shade, then the short ability of the pole to lie flat on the window sill of the using window, this is a very nice design. Highly recommend.

This is the third time I have purchased a rope replacements for pull down attic stairs. I really like the build design, the extension handle, plus the value for the money. This adjustable attic pull works great. Get rid of the rope then get this one!

Let me start by saying that this item does exactly what it's claims to do and is designed for. In that, there is no question. It feels sturdy enough to perform this function for many years to come and I doubt will show any signs of failing in that time. The locking clasps feel very secure when used. However, all that being said, you may want to wait for a sale or discount offering as the materials (and function) don't justify it's cost (currently 25$). The most robust parts of this kit is the hook itself and the option pull-down ring. The pole feels to be made of thin and lightweight aluminum. Definitely strong enough for its occasional use, but... would it survive your kids using it as a make-shift lightsabre for a week? I think not.But here's something to consider before writing this item off:Considering that the hook simply screws on/off (not permanently attached); try thinking of other uses for it. Something outside it's intended design in order to get your money's worth out of it.Example:I have a small wifi camera that I attached it to the end of the rod and extended to it's full length and was able to then position the camera in an area that was out of reach and out of sight. I just used my tablet to view.Me, personally, I can't let my 25$ just go towards just pulling down an attic ladder ONLY. I will find other uses for this.
