Why are Big Dog Antler Chews such great chews for your dog?

Antlers are one of the most easily digested forms of calcium available and are regularly consumed by wildlife such as squirrels, skunk, raccoon and mink. Since our antlers are never farm raised they never contain steroids, antibiotics, preservatives or any artificial additives.

Elk antlers do not tend to chip or splinter like some cooked and raw bones do.

Why are Big Dog Antler Chews Different?

These Antlers are Extra Large size, and will last your dog a long, long time! They are whole pieces - not split.

We carefully sand every antler piece to make sure there are no sharp edges to harm your dog.

Our antlers are from free ranging wild elk. Since our antlers are never farm raised they never contain steroids, antibiotics, preservatives or any artificial additives.

You will receive 2 Elk Antlers that are from 6" to 10" long. The pictures above are shown on a 1-inch grid so you can see the average thickness.

They are perfect for indoors - Extremely long-lasting and create no stinky, sticky, greasy mess on your floor or on your hands.

When my doodles and dane get anxious, bored or just want to chew, they love these bones to gnaw on. When u hear the bones hit the floor u know the doodles and dane have had a good chew and are relaxed.

Update May 7th (2 days):Some of the thrill is gone for #2. That photo of her with her head on the floor is her being tired is all though.#1 ate that double end off the larger bone. These bones are red inside if that matters to anyone. To me it means they aren't dried out. The edges do come off in pieces as it gets softer from heavy chewing. Our dogs have pretty strong bite force by breed ratings too. #2 spends at least 2 hours a day on it.Still worth the money.Original May 5th Review:I'll just let the photos (that we're uploaded out of order!) speak for themselves. A couple hours later and both are asleep. Perfect results! Both Girls are 60 lbs. #1 is a Beagle/GSD mix (our 2nd rescue) and has a strong bite and sharp teeth. #2 is a Black Mouth Cur/American Pitbull mix (our 1st rescue), and she scratched the outer layer in minutes. What impressed us immediately and sent them into a obsessed 3 hour session aka nearly 1.5 hours of peace and quiet for us, was the size (see photos). They're every bit of 8" and a little. The one that had a double cut end was every bit of 2"+ across. These will be regularly replaced for the price. For what we've spent on synthetic versions of these that are now in the "unused dog stuff basket", we could have been saving money on these. When we need to replace them I'll update this review with the date we feel we need to. FYI, we have remnants of a antler we bought over 5 years ago, that got cut in half, then later drilled. #1 would wait for #2 to finish with it. Crazy. We sanitize them in the dishwasher with all there other things regularly. Now that we're not buying alternatives we'll likely not go through the trouble. These arrived to the NE in a day too. Win Win for us.I can easily recommend this product from this vendor. 2 pack Large.

These are nice size antlers and my pitbulls love them, they actually last about a month . Both girls are focused chewers so they do great with these and it helps keep their breath fresh and teeth clean

I just got these today. The picture was taken about an hour after giving them to my dog. She tried to make a dent in each but, so far, has not gotten very far. I bought these after purchasing another elk antler from a different Amazon company but it lasted less than a week with my aggressive chewer. These were a great deal for two. One was weightier than the other but both were a very good size. They also have no odor. They are nice and thick and loaded with marrow. Hoping they last. If they do, this review will go unchanged. My recommendation just from first impression and my aggressive chewer going an hour on them, is buy, buy, buy.

Our Lab loves these Big Antler Chews. He will happily entertain himself for extended periods of time with them. They are big enough for him to position in his paws, strong enough to take prolonged chomping and last quite a while before they get too small for them to be safe for him. I like that they come in a two pack. Some days he likes one better than the other. Great product at a reasonable price. Thanks!

We rescue and rehabilitate Irish Wolfhounds. There are not a lot of chew toys (bones) that they can work on without destroying them and swallowing the pieces. We have tried just about everything but have finally settled on raw beef bones and elk antlers. The raw beef bones can be picked up at your local grocery store. They provide both bone (for cleaner teeth) and marrow for their diet. We tried the whole elk antlers but they couldn't make any headway on them so they simply gave up. And of course there is always the concern that they might chip or break a tooth. Not much likelihood of that with Irish Wolfhounds but it's still possible -- especially if they are puppies. But when I gave them the split elk antlers they wouldn't give them up for anything. Split elk antlers are expensive, far more expensive than the whole antlers. After thinking about it for a bit, I figured out how to get split elk antler chews at a reasonable price. My solution doesn't involve flying out West and picking them up off the ground. All you need to do is order a pack of these (2) and cut them in half with a hacksaw. With the right blade it doesn't take long at all. Now for the price of two decently sized elk antlers you end up with four split antlers. Happy dogs and happy owners.

Only one of my dogs really took to these and she has worked on the smaller one till it was too small and I had to get rid of it. It's weird because she isn't interested in the larger one at all. That's the only reason I gave it the 4-star rating. I don't understand this. And they are a bit pricey to be laying around unused.Another thing. I can see myself rolling away after stepping on it in the dark. Scary at my age. I know. I should pick it up, but I don't.It was a test. I haven't decided if I will buy any more.
