Bought this to power my R6 MarkII and it didn’t work at all with a fully charged battery pack. Do not buy this product.

When I first ordered this I thought I was ordering a dummy battery for my Canon 5D Mark II that would allow me to power the camera using 15,000 or even 20,000mAh battery bank. Turns out I was wrong. Ths instead is designed to allow you to run your camera from an A/C outlet powered USB-C jack/charger.The exact size of the charger is unclear. One part of the listing states minimum wattage of 30 another part states minimum of 27 watts.I spent days digging through every nook and cranny in my home looking for a charger that was powerful enough and had a USB-C port. The only one I could find close enough was a 20 watt charger jack. It does work, my camera powered on and it did take pictures, but I did not try to use the flash. I suspect I would cause problems or damage if I tried to take a picture with the flash on while at 20 watts. One other discrepancy with the listing. It shows a five foot coiled cable as being included with the dummy battery. I received a six foot straight cable with my dummy battery. Not a big deal, but the manufacture needs to update their listing.I do question the logic behind the cable included with the dummy battery, why is it so short? Five or six feet of cable is to short to be practical. You are required to use an extension cable and if it is not a high speed cable the camera will not recieve any power. For the price I feel this could have included a 10 or even 12 foot cable which would have made this unit far more practical. At the time of this review the F1TP Canon DC Coupler Dummy Battery was selling for $19.99 which is a good price for this usful little gadget. It has a few small issues that can be easily addressed in the future by the manufacturer. As for the dummy battery itself I have to say that is a quality product with plenty of potential.

I use this dummy battery to power my Canon R5 or R6 mirrorless cameras with a v-mount battery. You place the dummy battery in your battery compartment and connect the cable connected to it to a v-mount battery (with a greater capacity) via the USB-C cable. This kit is well made and works well in all three of my Canon mirrorless cameras. Recommended.
