My best friend is very interested in Asian culture and Chinese tea ceremonies. He recommended watching for anything that mentioned "pixiu," the hybrid dragon creature that the stand in this tea set depicts. The set is beautiful in person, seems very well-made, thick ceramic (or whatever kind of pottery it is made of), and is very nicely painted. It's definitely a display piece, and the pixiu is very large. This would look great on display with any tea or Asian-themed collection. I am delighted to have this and I think it could become a family heirloom.

This is such a cool piece. I collect tea sets and I just got this for how it looks. I can't comment on the way to use it. It looks so good in my cabinet. I think it is awesome. The color and weight of these are solid.

Lovely porcelain tea set with a very attractive traditional design. We love the red/brown colour.Includes 1 tea set base, 1 Gaiwan, 1 gongdao cup, 6 tea cups.Came packed carefully in foam to prevent breakages.We particularly liked the dragon.

Wow sums up the tea set. It comes very well packaged, and the individual pieces are simply stunning once out of the box. The star of the show is the dragon, and it looks incredible and even just sitting on the table. The colour of the ceramic glaze is great, and imperfections are few and far between. No instructions are provided but it is pretty straight forward to use. The only real downside it given the size of the dragon it does require a fair bit of space to store when not in use. I do like to have a Sunday high tea, and this adds another dimension to the meal. A great talking point if nothing else.
