While I like the product design, I was unable to use it with my current set of hole saws. I did finally realize that for the locking mechanism to rotate, it has to be inserted into a suitable fitting hole saw that engages the metal clips by pushing them back, before the locking mechanism can be turned/twisted into position.

This is my second fastcap mandrel. The first one snapped while drilling a 6 inch hole. Understandable with that size hole saw, but sill a first for me. Second one arrived defective and will not lock into any hole saw.

The product works pretty good so far. It doesn't fit my 1⅜" hole saw but that's ok because it works with the rest of my hole saws. The only issue I have is that the pilot bit for the Fastcap Quick Mandrel is a special pilot bit. It has 3 flat sides at the bottom of the bit where the 3 set screws hold it in place. Which would be fine, if I could buy more pilot bits on Amazon or a hardware store. I can't find them anywhere and my pilot bit already broke. So now I'm stuck with an arbor with no pilot bit to guide my hole saws when I drill holes. So I just went back to my previous hole saw arbor.

Packaged well, does what its suppose to do except it wont hold smaller holesaws. I knew that before purchasing. I use it to drill into 2.5mm plastic for my job. My issue with it is the pilot drill bit. Its always coming lose from the body of mandrel via the grub screw. It seems not matter how tight, I tighten it it comes loose. I think the reason is the grub screw is contacting a small surface area rather than a flat/ground surface. I might have to file a flat spot on the drill bit. Also for those who have mentioned before, you cant replace the drill bit with another standard one. You need to buy fast caps drill.I gave 3 stars because for what I do its okay, not ideal but okay. For those who drill into thicker/harder material might not be so suited.

If you have and use only one hole saw, this won't mean much to you. BUT, if you have more than one, of different diameters, this completely eliminates all the disassembly/reassembly of changing the saw on a mandrel. This is a sturdy, click on, click off device. Quick, easy changes and plenty strong. Great product.
